Well, I mean, you gotta live according to your values in order to be happy with yourself.

I’ve really disengaged with the idea that I need to compete with or assert my own views of what is righteous over what society presents for me as the template to follow. Rejecting that template for myself and accepting that others prefer it, accept it or are just unconcious altogether doesn’t really cause any kind of issue for me.

Everyone has a right to their own reasonable way of life; judging their ways is a cope for my own ego that I try to resist.

All this to say, I think I understand your position. You’ve thought quite deeply on it, and it sounds like an okay way to be.. but not for me.

Holy fuck that sounds exhausting.

I’d rather just be okay with where I’m at and the fact that nobody in the work world wants to be my friend. They can tell themselves whatever story they like to rationalize their feelings about me, don’t care.

At some point, its a waste of energy to climb the professional ladder any further. Find a comfortable spot where you can reasonably support your life, and then focus on the life.

I think you do benefit from keeping an awareness for it, but really that just comes in the form of understanding the futility of being able to change it from an individual’s position. Best to accept it if you don’t want to be driven insane.

Find the things you can enjoy in life and maximize your attention on those things so that you can tolerate the intolerable realities of society.

You gotta pick which fucks to give… godspeed to anyone willing to make the sacrifices required to upset the applecart.

If you spend too much time paying attention to the sociological systems that organize our civilization, you will only become miserable.

Humanity, at scale, is a pretty terrible thing. It is because the exceptionally cruel, or selfish or greedy are rewarded rather than punished.

It’s perversely absurd that humans could learn how to both split and fuse the atom, but cant seem to figure out how to deal with exploitation

very detailed hypotheses all through out. I can agree with some of it. Some of it seems like it was given too much thought without referring substance to back it up.

6/10

I dont think i’ve ever considered the infodump from that angle.. it carries none of that intent whatsoever. I just get carried by the wave, happily so. Seems insane that it would be received as a diss.

the perpetual, nigh-unbroken chain of social rejection tells me as much. so yeah

I don’t think many people are saying that. It’s the heel-turn by the USA that causes them to prefer China lately.

As a Canadian, I personally agree that my stance on China has become more favourable because of the shift in perspective that the USA currently offers. Not because they’ve suddenly stopped imprisoning Uyghurs for existing.

It is a common human trait, regardless of neurotype.

Yes, I imagine that’s a significant part of it.

The next thing to do is to accept their behavior toward each other, that’s their relationship. Neither one of them is the good guy here, by the sounds of it, so don’t let them drag you intro that miserable world any more.

I think a lot of people go no contact because they can’t figure out how to just neutrally disengage. It’s a valid option, but I do think you could develop a selective kind of apathy for their nonsense and still appreciate their positive things they add to your life (if there are any?)

I can appreciate why train-gang is a thing. Not my thing though; this picture has no effect on me.

Involuntarily rendered muted or, occasionally, enraged.

So, I’m not a diagnostician, but if you have above average ability to read social cues, then that sure sounds like it excludes a diagnosis of autism.

I’m glad you disqualified your opinion before you shared it because ability for reading cues is a very narrow aspect of what could contribute to difficult social interactions.

Some of us develop a heightened kind of vigilance for social cues because of how we’ve been punished for our natural lack of understanding them, and that doesn’t necessarily confer ANY ability to effectively act on those cues appropriately in the way we ought to.

I have a very simple thought for you to consider.

Stop parenting your parents. Not your problem.

You can have a relationship with them if you can figure out how to offer them token sympathy for their self-inflicted miseries. You can’t get involved so much as to be a shoulder to cry on, and ear to bend for venting, or to help them with solutions.

People like you to fit the mental model they have of you and tend to reject the infomration that doesn’t match what they already believe.

I got a new boss three months ago and they create chaos, stress, and uncertainty with their wildly inconsistent directives. I am driven to the edge of insanity multiple times per week an all I can do is try my best to disassociate and do the best I can with the work while doing the best I can to not give a fuck all-around.

And things are not calming down into a steady-state, its just more unhinged with each passing day.

I’m not really sure, but I appreciate the thought either way. :)

When someone says ’OK boomer’; they are referring to your behaviour and the clear limitations that are being demonstrated in thinking, and the experiential gatekeeping of what is ‘right’. The confidence of ignorance. This drawing upon ‘evidence’ over at YouTube to defend that ignorance and support your bias..

This is why it is correct when u/Glytch uses it here, regardless of your physical age.

I find the only compliments dudes share are when you have the same ‘thing’ as them. Same shirt, same vehicle… same.. no.. nope. thats all of them.

So true!

When I bought my truck I said, “If you keep talking, I will buy it from somoene else. Let me drive and I will make my decision.”

You know, in true autistic fashion.

Not really confused by it, but I find it suspicious by default. Most of the time, I just say thank you to politely accept it.

Half the time, I tend to find that people are trying to just butter me up to get something out of me. Disingenuity is very grating on my sensibilities and it can lower my opinion of people who tend to behave in that way.

I used to take it personally, like that person thinks I’m dumb enough to buy into their petty manipulation. Now I understand that lots of people just carelessly, all-around, do this to score points they can cash in on later. I just pretend I don’t notice and say thank you anyway; I don’t think I could offer anything but a sincere compliment, myself.

Yeah, when people notice where you are putting your efforts. That’s really all that matters for the feel-good aspect of compliments.

Women filter things through their emotions and feelings.

Uh, that’s everyone. Its very unusual to not be doing that, and it takes a lot of practice and patience to hold space for your emotions to pass and to understand how they affect your reasonability and to compensate for that in your judgements.

Like for example, after reading this opening sentence of your comment, it is difficult for me to not disqualify the rest of what you are saying as ignorant before I actually read it. I have to observe my emotion and then take a read after that feeling begins to ebb.

And so after pausing and reading the rest of your comment, I see you as someone who rationalizes their feelings to frame a narrative.

Womanish, as referred, in your world view. Hypocritical and lacking self-awareness.

If you don’t have the permission and money for expensive renovations, then high quality earplugs is the answer. I have gone through a lot of different earplug products because of the discomfort of wearing them.

These 3M ones, I can wear for 12 hours straight, no problems. https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B000I7LH8Y

If you do want to get serious and do the work, base your noise-reduction system around this product: https://sonopan.com/

Best way to do this sort of thing is to be short and sweet.

“I’m really interested in this work and felt my first interview didn’t hit the mark. Would you be willing to give me another chance to show my capabilities?”

I think it says everything you need to without seeming over-eager or desperate.

Neurotypical people prioritize vibes over most things socially… and you’re disabled in vibe detection and vibe projection.

If you want to level up your career, you need to practice interviewing and find somewhere else that will hire you… In my experience, internal career growth happens for people who get along well with the social end of things. I may suck at that, but I learned to handle the brief intensity of masking well for an interview.

Best thing to do is try to move around every couple years until you find a job where you can just focus on the work and disregard the social nonsense.

  1. AI company hijacks your processes, trade secrets, and market to offer the same thing for cheaper than you can. Raises rates for competitors to cover its own token use and simultaneously drive the others out of business.

Failing in Ukraine… so Russia will now also provoke a heavily armed NATO country, and neighbour to Ukraine: Poland.

No. Serious doubt this is real.

Yeah, maybe. Could be a work around for some devices that will support it. I don’t see why not.

It was a pretty big shift for me when I realized that a big part of my mood was tied to my sensory load. Using tools like earplugs or shades makes life go better when my nervous system decides to flare up and make everything loud, bright and annoying.

OK, yeah I will give these a shot. I really don’t like the disposable factor of the earplugs, but the 3M ones I likes are the only ones that arent uncomfortable and fit well. If i can find a reusable that does the same job, I’d like that.
