The Linux Experiment@thelinuxexperiment GNOME hiding all the AI-gen reports from projects that prohibit AI is madness, they could just create a separated category/page for reports that are AI or they are not sure instead of just going with "we cannot tell, so we are not even going to try".
Honestly, this change has the smell of laziness.
@thelinuxexperiment The idea of Distros making custom forks of outdated software they maintain looks like an interesting compromise, but do they currently have enough resources and people to do it?
This looks like a shift that would take a long time to become effective, even if it's a positive change.
@thelinuxexperiment Torvalds instance does not look unclear to me, he is putting individual decision and efficiency above social/environmental discussions, stating that AI tools can be useful (and have been in finding hidden bugs) but should not either be forced or banned in his view.
Not to be rude, but this really looked like a case of your personal bias messing up how you interpreted his statements.
