Price point is fine for a “new” laptop.

Unfortunately, most of us obsessed with repairable laptops are also okay with refurbed at like a tenth the price.

Sure, a framework is more repairable than a thinkpad. But the point is to reduce ewaste. I can more easily reduce ewaste by buying this repairable enough laptop from eBay for $200-$400 vs $1200 without ram or ssd

I swap PCs regularly and I hate how long it takes to install windows.

Also windows borked a games drive once and I never forgave it.

Then I learned all the privacy stuff.

Genuine question: why do you want to be a Co-owner and not just start a server?

It seems you’re aware of what goes into it normally. Except technical aspects. Is that all?

Tom Bombadill was an insane add to the story.

“Yeah I thought it would be interesting to have a guy who could just end the story but he loves his girlfriend too much.”

I dunno, after perusing the website, I’m sold!

I’m so sold I’m gonna go get circumcised a second time!

So long as Daniel is paid from Mullvad, Mullvad financially supports the far right by proxy.

So this doesn’t feel like an issue to me because its a digital download.

This means we know an infinite number of these games could be made. There is no scarcity issue at hand. So my digital copy sitting unplayed doesn’t remove from someone else’s ability to play. Therefore I don’t really care that I don’t play those games.

Also, invite your friends over for a lan party

I’m a fan of academic and Pop-academic sources.

Pop Academic is usually the much easier to read version of a proper academic quality book. I’m a fan of Bart D. Erhman and a lot of his books are pop academia, but they reference his academic works.

The process I was taught for this kind of source finding is 1) Search for a broader topic 2) Find a well referenced book on the broader topic 3) Read book reviews of the book to determine if it has the content you want 4) Read the book or skim the book looking for mention of the idea you want to know more about 5) Check the relevant sources of that section.

If there are no sources listed (or they don’t exist because they’re hallucinations), its probably not a good book for information.

A Plato ass move

Context: Plato’s conception of gods was that they couldn’t lie because they were actually necessarily good.and things that were wholly good have no reason to decieve. They don’t even shape shift!

In the Republic, Plato says we should rewrite myths so that this truth was pushed and not the slander of poets. Further we should restrict what poets can write in his ideal republic (though this is more of a metaphor for how to live a good life than a literal outline of his ideal republic, its still kinda shitty of him and I’m not really sure if there’s a better interpenetration).

To consider debasement of currency as bad I must first respect the concept of cash capital.

Therefore, Diogenes is based.

I love my cats, but I’d rather my neighborhood have birds.

IF you got wide feet, Lems and Zero do pretty good. Lems I know goes to 15, but I’m just a 12

If Plato is accurate then I don’t know if he didn’t talk out of his ass.

Damn that’s a pretty good explanation actually

Sorry, you have a scale that can measure your water content?

That, the relationship to mysticism, giving sermons in Greek instead of Latin, translation disagreements with the bible

It was a few things, but I also want to believe it was the bread.

Also I was raised by Catholics but in hindsight the eastern Orthodox seems much more based and I say they were in the right

Loot boxes are not a monopoly.

Its a bad thing they did to abuse their monopoly stance

Insane to think an in image attribution is advertising, but a direct link is fine.

And didn’t you learn a valuable lesson about scrolling socials when you should have focused on those KPIs?

Maybe the difference is effort versus objective reality.

You and OP are concerned with whether or not they became a monopoly maliciously when I think the previous commenter is concerned with whether or not they simply are a monopoly.

In my view they are a monopoly and they have abused that. I’m thinking of their loot boxes and silent support of skin gambling.

We should be mistrustful of institutions with this much power, regardless of if they’re actively abusing it.

The joke is that one would assume its a sappy sentiment that I’m thinking about home and my spouse while I relax with a beer.

And the punch line is alcoholism

Beer I get on the last day of a work trip by myself and tomorrow morning I fly home to my spouse I haven’t seen in a week

(They don’t let me drink)

Your username is almost relevant though

Would you like to talk more?

I’m interested in making friends. I’ll send you my email if you’d like

You will say his silly name with respect! Dr. Glaucomflecken

I think it’s “eye spot”

Tax stamps (recently repealed)

For the longest time, if you wanted certain types of weapons, you had to pay a $200 tax to own that weapon. These include surpressors, full auto guns, short barrel rifles, and short barrel shotguns

The point wasn’t to ban these things it was to make them prohibitively expensive because “its the poor’s who vomit violence”. And this tax was implemented in the 1940’s where $200 was off 2 or 4 times the cost of the gun itself.

A different example is gun registries and concealed carry license databases. I don’t trust the police to act calm when interacting with me when they know I have a gun. There are special classes that CCL holders take often so that they know how to read a cop and keep them calm during a traffic stop or a welfare check because cops are trained to shoot first and are very scared of the masses.

Think of Paretti here. Shot dead for having a gun. People blamed it on the ICE agent being a violent fascist thug trained like that. I don’t see it that way. I think he operated like a cop who was told no consequences.

We have videos of cops approaching black men, committing the crime of being in white people spaces, who ask them if they have a gun, the man says yes, the cop tells them at gun point to pull it out and drop it, and then shoost the man when he touches the gun.

I don’t trust police to use surveillance state information like who owns what guns in a way that won’t get me killed. Its why I’m still hesitant to get any tax stamp items. I’d love an SBR, but then I am legally required to let the ATF “inspect” my home if they ask me to. I have to tell the ATF when and where I’m moving to if I change states.

Holy shit they’re locally available too!

My friend. You as an individual cannot be targeted with genocide. Genocide is the erasure of a whole cultural identity.

That’s another linguistic oddity you’re using that I think is upsetting people to be hostile against you.

It sounds like you’re being harassed and that’s terrible that you’re experiencing that kind of violence.

Is this danger around speaking, is it something that’s happening to you in real life or just online? It sounds like something bad is happening to you in real life, but I think these issues your having for which you’re asking for permission to speak is caused by your linguistic oddities.

Okay, but those are both normal identities here. Have you had bad experiences based on those identities here?

Its an odd linguistic choice to identify as a “male homosexual” specifically and especially as a defiant statement against a seemingly specific type of bigotry.

Further its odd to start from the assumption that people will be racist towards you as well. Especially here where we can’t know that information unless given to us.

You’re clearly traumatized and reacting in response to that, but it starts the conversation off on a terrible foot when you assume the community you’re posting to for the first time is going to be hostile to you for things we cannot know unless you share it. I think the hostility you’ve encountered here, including my swearing, was triggered by this because you offended us.

What do you mean permission to speak?

Where are you trying to talk?

Do mean like “speak to a therapist?”

What do you mean “male” and “homosexuality” is incompatible?

Further what do you mean your ethnicity is divisive? What are you talking about?

You should talk about poetry if that’s what you want to do.

What do you mean “male” and “homosexuality” is incompatible?

Further what the hell do you mean your ethnicity is divisive? What are you talking about?

You should talk about poetry if that’s what you want to do.

Gotta say it homies.

I think I finally found a kink I don’t get.

I can’t tell you the names of a single neighbor I have now.

It would be so nice to just assume Titus or Lucien and be reasonably right.
