Yup, just got my dual diagnosis at 40. In the US you couldn’t even have a dual diagnosis until like 10 years ago. It doesn’t change my day to day much but it does make me feel better about failing when trying ADHD coping mechanics that just aren’t made for me. Now I can look for specific strategies.
The extent of the setup for Plex is to log in with your email and password, pick which shared libraries you want to be pinned to your home screen, and then browse. My parents in their 70s were able to figure it out and all I had to do from my end was grant them access to the libraries I wanted to share with a simple check box.
This.
Securely sharing is simpler on Plex. I can invite anyone with just an email and they have near instant access to an HTTPS encrypted service. I don’t have to deal with setting up a VPN, reverse proxy or ACLs (in the case of something like Tailscale).
“Quark’s Bar, Grill, Gaming House, and Holosuite Arcade holds zero liability for any bodily injury, dissolution, localized gravitational anomalies, safety-protocol “glitches,” or unexpected temporal displacement occurring within the holosuite program. Any subsequent medical expenses, loss of limbs, or funeral arrangements are solely the financial responsibility of the patron. Rule of Acquisition 17 exceptions apply for Ferengi patrons in good standing with the FCA.”
Probably needs to add “holosuite nonsense”. move along home, vic fontaine, bashir’s wacky spy adventures, etc.

at least it doesnt try to sell me a 12 pack of toilet seats like amazon.
i have to scroll halfway down the damn page but i do still get a dictionary response.

Also his tendency to info dump, his inability to fully judge social situations, how his “emotional” needs get dismissed by some people (cough picard cough). There’s just a lot of social things going on with Data that feel familiar.
Damnit, this is why the world needs some sort of universal basic income system. You might be the one to create effectively free energy or something but we’ll never know.
That’s interesting! Especially given how Picard and some of the others treat him. You could have fooled me saying it was written into the show that way.
as an opening impression she was rude and arrogant
So was McCoy. And Bashir. And The Doctor. If anything, Crusher is the odd one out here and I think that’s just because Roddenberry wanted her to be “motherly” for his self-insert Wesley.
did you know there are these things called search engines that let you type in literally anything and it will search the entire internet for you?
Data is autistic coded for sure. And yeah, you get it! They end up having a great relationship. I guess people could complain that it’s just a rehash of the McCoy and Spock dynamic but, if nothing else, I’m glad she was around for a season just for Data’s character growth.
Edit: This might be a bit of a hot take but I think Picard is more of a dick to Data in general, especially in the early seasons.
People dislike her because she was a dick to Data in the beginning, and that she’s mostly an attempt at making a female Dr. McCoy. I’m really glad the writers gave her a bit of a redemption arc with her relationship to Data though, it makes for an interesting bit of character development for both of them.
Pulaski really came around though. Remember how genuinely happy she was for Data when he kicked that smug alien’s ass in Stratagema? And she was encouraging him not to give up throughout the episode when he was having a bit of a crisis from initially losing. I hated her at first but she’s grown on me.

Frakes looks like such a huge dork in that picture hahaha. Love it.
RetroFed

Needs the goofy teeth from the original lol
TIL! So (in general) it goes maillard reaction -> caramelization -> pyrolysis as temperatures increase?
Serious question. When you have a steak, or any piece of meat really, do you try to make sure it doesn’t get an color when it cooks? A lot of what’s happening is the same (heat converting sugars and things into other compounds that our brains like)
Sorry, it was a monty python reference! I’m glad that you’re back with us.
They got better.
It’s the same reason why every “AI” logo looks like a butthole!
I got this through sheer indecisiveness on my first playthrough.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. A wonderful JRPG (FRPG? It was made by a French studio).
Got to the end of the game a few weeks ago, I haven’t beaten it bc I don’t want it to truly end! Such a good game.
I doubt any of them ever imagined that someone would undertake the herculean effort of remastering it in high definition.
it also marks proton mail as throwaway lol
maybe the license was cheaper? idk how getty images works.
you burn trash for fuel and then it turns into smoke and goes up into the sky where it turns into stars
Unironically yes haha. I hope it’s just a manual lawn mower that you have your son push around.
I haven’t heard you say a word about your solar powered electric car…
I had a little experience with Debian-based stuff on routers and whatnot going in, but when I finally migrated my main PC to linux I went with an Arch-based distro (cachyos) because the documentation on both projects is fantastic. I was able to get everything set up the way I wanted in a couple of days, with only one reinstall along the way lol.
What’s this from?
“Captain” Ryan Clark
Ahh yeah, the Jerry Seinfeld strategy! Wear your underwear until they’re so thin that they barely retain the properties of underwear, then open a window and let them waft out on the breeze like a dandelion.
This is off topic, but toms hardware is one of a growing list of pages using “ad recovery” services that intentionally break their own page and then blame DNS-level filters for the problem. It’s disingenuous at best and I really don’t think a site willing to employ a such deceptive tactic should be allowed to get page views.
