Yoti too.
They hold and verify ID, then mostly just pass an OK to the website or service you wanna access. Similar to Paypal playing the middle man when shopping and clicking Pay with Paypal.
They do also have the ability to share other details, but according to their FAQ it’s always with your permission.
Likewise Paypal will share your name address and email, but that’s often necessary while shopping.
Logging in to sites with Google or Facebook has a similar effect, the login prompts often have check boxes that allow you to control the data you share.
The biggest problem of course is that Yoti or other similar services then know what sites you’ve been visiting, and if they don’t respect your privacy and/or keep logs of those sites that information can be hacked or misused by bad actors.
Thus they should only keep age verification use logs extremely temporarily, or anonymize their logs if storing to track general system use patterns, for maintenance and research.
I have an email address and other accounts from the ‘90s that still exist.
I use the email for junkmail and Craigslist.
Meh, in the end US voting rights have mm ratings…
Stitching is a hobby?
While back the doc said US Insurers increased the age for testing, so my insurance likely wouldn’t cover the cost for a test. So he didn’t do one.
Didn’t even ask if I wanted or could front the cost myself.
That was at 42 IIRC.
If I die as a result of that choice, I’m taking him and others with me.
Where’s the second comparison picture that shows what it would look like with more 3 or 4 story or underground parking.
Wouldn’t you want to also be on your own jury?
Direct and financial influence trumps merely financial influence. It could save the billionaire class millions in donations and bribes.
Look what it’s done for Trump.
Let’s get strapped!
Why do they last more than a year?
Why do they exist at all?
Hola, they had an issue with bandwidth getting gobbled up, it’s resolved but reliability won’t return untill next week.
Their post about it is hosted on the service you can’t see because it has the issue they are explaining in the post.
However if you search the fediverse for fedinsfw there are posts explaining this elsewhere.
They actually fixed the issue with their service, but the bandwidth alottment was already used up. Connection reliability should return to normal next week.
It’s kinda funny not funny, the post explaining the issue is hosted on the instance you can’t access because it has that issue.
Meh, far as I’m concerned they can still talk about all these events and facts but they should always do so in a positive and celebratory manner.
Not, this site remembers whatever genocide, but instead, this site remembers the soldiers/citizens who faught against a ruthless group who were at the time commiting genocidal acts against indigenous people… You don’t even need to name the group of assholes. But it’s fine to specifically name the heros and their heroic acts.
Perhaps post education signs that talk about positive changes to an area.
Like in 1998 John Soandso lead a campaign to restore the area you see before you to the healthy natural state it’s in today. Because of that campaign bla bla birds and native plants have returned to the area over the years since. Previous to John’s campaign the area had been heavily over polluted by nearby industrial factories.
Keep any of the bad stuff referenced as a relevant afterthought. Use the good stuff as examples of what to do, of people to look up to.
I saw some similar signs in NC last time I went through, like the ones celebrating the life of a master builder in area who had helped build many of the still standing historic building. Oh yeah, he was also black and a slave, but that wasn’t the point, so it was just kinda noted within the context of the details of his life… Instead the sign celebrated his craft and contributions to the community.
Whatever man.
I change up my writing style pretty much constantly.
And I switch between muliple accounts on several services, each representing a different fictional character.
And I use a VPN.
I prefer standardized OS wide appearances that are respected by all apps. The only skinning I want are Dark Modes or Mini Player modes (for media players).
Wait, wouldn’t public funds bias the news reports towards public benefit?
I only pee in other people’s showers.
But if you know the answer, are you not also logically the best person to ask?
Yeah, was pretty sure it was something like that…
I used AI to make a Home Alone themed digital Christmas card last year. It was completely PG. But it was a nightmare to do as I kept tripping over gates on account of Kevin being a child and Home Alone being a copyrighted property.
I went all the way to the dark end of the AI gen spectrum, to where kiddie porn abdolutely happens, but the product I produced there was unsatisfactory. So I went alI went back to the top players with all the gates and worked around them by reworking my prompts for what seemed like forever.
1 year earlier I would’ve gotten the results I wanted with my first prompt, maybe tweaking fonts for the words, fixing spelling errors, or making minor visual features. 5min tops.
It really turned me off from continuing to play with AI.
Those gates have gotten really nasty.
It’s as though users are treated as guilty in advance and then denied the opportunity to prove themselves innocent.
Completely backwards attitude and practice.
Oh, Costco is in the stone ages still in a lot of ways, it’s pretty unsettling sometimes. But also using tried and true methods and waiting decades to adopt modern tech saves a ton of cash… Which doesn’t just benefit the stock holders when you’re a company like Costco.
Go in in person on a weekday before 3pm and sign up at the service desk.
My grand pappy worked on parts used for those moon buggies. He was pretty knowledgeable about them and proud of his work.
Would be pretty shitty for him to have learned it was all staged.
He was a hard ass too, ex British Navy.
I don’t think it wise to hire people like him to work on projects you intend to use to lie to and betray the public.
Pretty sure it’d be more cost effective and safer to just hire joe schmoe to work up some gadget in his garage, or to handle it in house. Why hire outside professionals and actually do the real work to just lie about the outcome.

Looks like road rage & attempted assault, license suspension at a minimum. Should be license revocation, considering he’s an in uniformed federal officer.
The items listed weren’t necessarily waste, pans and tires and part bikes and barrels and recyclables he may have collected to turn in for coin… He may have cleaned up other areas in order to collect some of the stuff he had at his site, we don’t know.
The people who clear campsites just estimate weight of all they remove and label it all ‘trash that they cleared’… But it’s never is.
That’s like calling all the plants in my yard weeds, just cause you don’t like them.
My SO and I fill a 30L trash bag every two weeks, and our recycling is usually filled faster as there’s so much paper/cardboard packaging on everything, plus we favor food stuff sold in recycable containers.
Our recycling basically goes out every week, as the two bins are smaller than our trash can, but our trash can usually goes out less and with one or two bags in it… We’d wait, but it’s hot outside and we don’t want to leave it there boiling and rotting for weeks.
Actually, a lot of that sounds pretty practical.
The barrels would work as slow burn barrels for long term heat on cold nights, the bike parts could be a source of income (part bikes > full bikes to sell), more than 2 pans seems too many, but he may go through them fast if used over an open fire (depending on the type of pan), for millennia campers kept fires buring over night or for days to make cooking later easier (yes it’s risky in some situations, but practical in general), and covering his car would ensure it looked cleaner and required lower maintenance (both have a lot of perks for a homeless person trying to live cheaply and fly under the radar). I’m not sure about the tires, but keeping cans and some other materials can def provide a source of income.
Nothing is ever really disposable, except the abusive people in your life. We could all benefit from less of those. Everything else is reusable or recyclable. Just listing this guys possessions without explanations for them makes them easy to dismiss as trash, but that isn’t necessarily even close to honest. He likely had some actual waste on site from food prep or completed projects, but by no means was all his stuff trash.
Just give them sensibly labels and tags when making them so they are findable and usable. Don’t fret over organization beyond that, it won’t improve your quality of life, go for a walk or something instead.
Gonna be more next time… Way more.
Well, I grew up with knowledge of cable pirating in apartment complexes, VHS recording of retals to share or rewatch or watch later, and tape and CD sharing and mixing…
So as far as Im aware pirating was always a easy, viable, and economically savvy choice.
I did explore Netflix for a brief time 15 years ago, but the quality of their service degraded heavily, and I still pirated alongside my Netflix membership, as their content was always limited. And I shared my member ship with others, then later occasionally used a membership that was shared with me, until Netflix broke that system.
Courage, or ego, depending on varous complex genetic factors.
You had me at built in ad blocker.
If I get attacked by mosquitoes, even just a few bites, I spray down the whole yard and house siding, and then put out traps.
Figure I kill many for each bite I receive.
That reminds me, I have a zapper and a bat house to install.
Mosquitos messes with the wrong ombre.
My Sammy rang the front door bell to be let in when I was a kid. One night around midnight my dad opened the door nude to let Sammy in and some dude was standing there instead.
I’ve heen casually riding at 16mph on single gear bikes since I was a teen.
Have the people deciding the speed limit ever riden a bike?
Gonna go seed some roms.
When I got here a Michael said it was The Good Place, but I’m beginning to think he lied?
Mine does not, but I do it anyway…
That’s the cost of using me as a couch.
Isn’t a published book ‘media saying something’?
Private DNS service.
Jerry rig door sensor.
Probably against the rules, but I’d do it anyway.
She stole my cat.
Yeah, sure, those totally look like polar bear faces and bodies….
Did the artist see any polar bears before carving this, or were they blind and working from verbal description?
Personally, I’m petty sure this is a normal example of 19th century porn.
