I recently saw a video on youtube where guy followed and replicated Harvard experiment, which involved scanning news articles with specially trained llm, to find the moment to “buy low - sell high”.

TL:DR Both: original llm and script made by that youtuber, failed miserably. Apparently result of the study was that market basically unpredictable.

What doesn’t at this point? All repos on github contaminated at this point. In couple of years border between code created by humans and code created by llm’s will be basically non existent.

The end is near. git clone until it’s too late!

Nothing is stable in this world nowadays.

So neither my distro nor my orientation.

Yeah, recent update completely borked game on both linux and windows. Devs released a patch soon after that added “comparability mode for linux peasants”, but I saw suggestion for windows users to also use it, cause it solves same issue.

New class? What’s that?

Gonna create another character to level up nothing but necromancer&arcanist with spending all points to calidor’s tempest skill.

On the bright side - all those educated work migrants like me won’t ever consider US for relocation. So clearly “anti migrant policy” is working as intended.

For some reason when I use sddm shutdown sometimes just doesn’t work. Using GDM makes display doesn’t work (weird hdmi quirk with bitdepth). So instead I login via TTY and start my session manually. At least then I can shutdown my system. Usually.

I have no clue why that triggered people so much. Never stated that I have any problem with that, nor that I need any help solving it. I leave my apartment like, once per month and cause living in EU - there no need to “travel” further than opposite street to buy anything I may need.

On top of that, point was that it’s issue for other people in general. Explain how to setup tailscale to your grandma, I dare you.

Context limit is not really a problem on local models. Qwen3.6 can do up to ~256k tokens, it’s not that far from what things like cursor uses. grok in cursor have exactly 256k tokens for example. Also, you can use opencode with custom config, where you need to set trimming close to that number.

That being said, quality wise it still kinda shit and looses to paid models. I think you need something like GLM 5.2 to compete, which needs 228gb at lowest 1bit quant (not including context size, which can be up to 1m tokens, so you can round up requirements for RAM up to 256gb), so yeah, the only thing that limits you locally — the fact that “AI” companies bought all supply of focking ram and we can’t afford any.

what i could buy with 20-30€ costs over the hundreds

Khm-khm, arm boards, khm-khm

No like, for real, why 16gb arm board like O6 now costs almost 1k euro? 32gb version right now 1400 euro on aliexpress. FOR WHAT? Finest chinesium?

And “affordable” Raspberry Pi with as much ram as my toaster (and similar CPU at that) now costs more money, than regular small mini PC on x86.

You can use a DDNS

I need to dig into that a bit more, but I’m not sure if it will work with NAT on ISP side (with is a common thing at least in region I’m from).

Not everyone have static IP and device that can work as server. But yeah, it’s not like you can’t find work around: something like old android phone or spare notebook with pinggy on top would do the trick. Still, point stands - as for now it’s less convenient option.

Music services still pretty useful. I’m using deezer for example, it can stream lossless audio and kinda okay with “radio” mode. Used spotify before, but it infuriated me by suggesting same music I already heard for 20-50 times. It’s like at some point it just traps you in your own bubble of 100-200 songs.

The alternative would be downloading thousands of albums in flac and uploading to multiple devices. Plus you need to add new music, which includes searching for that mentioned music. So yeah, nah, I’m okay with paying subscription for now. Until they eventually go to shit like video services did. Then we will need to come up with “popcorn time” alternative for music I guess.

I spent 2k cycles building my colony in OxygenNotIncluded. It fully automated and self-sustained. No one will ever see it.

Yes, but actually no.

2 things:

  1. Dislike button itself not “wired’ to any visible/meaningful count and only seen by video author (which is funny, cause whole point of hiding dislike count was promoted as “beneficial to mental health of channel owners")
  2. If you using youtube dislikes — it replaces that button with it’s own, counts presses on its own and uses own logic to show “approximate” amount of dislikes on video: it’s not like it knows real count, what I’m trying to say

In my region cans cost significantly more than plastic (ability to recycle costs premium I guess), so I usually buy couple of cans for guests and one big plastic bottle for regular use.

Also I have similar dragon toy.

First of all - nothing runs under wine. You need to be a wizard to make anything work there. Hence we have proton that already preconfigured with everything you may need to run games\programs.

Regarding this emulator - haven’t tested it , but it most certainly a bad idea: emulators often relay on obscure instruction sets to run as performant as possible, and in case of this “emulator” as I understand it, it more like a translation layer somewhat similar to wine itself (shadps4 works this way too). So by running it thru wine you looking at multiple layers to map ps5 x86 calls to windows x86 to then linux x86. Which is kinda meh and comes with CPU performance hit.

Upd. And I get downvoted. Clearly anyone can install like, vscode on pure wine, without ever touching the wiki or winetricks. It just works and I’m the problem. Downvote me more, that will do it!

I will be honest, I’m somewhat proud of my proficiency level in English, especially considering I learned russian and German in school.

But your comment confuses me, cause I don’t understand half of it.

Also Fedora is not corporate, it is developed by the Fedora Foundation. Red Hat is only a member of it.

Yes and windows not developed by Microsoft, it just part of it.

I’m not fighting with you here, you welcome do downvote and politely fuck off. My point was made - linux distros made by all sorts of weirdos and mostly doesn’t work. The one that do work - usually either belong to corporation or effort of some paid labor (even arch for example, cause it being founded after all). If you don’t like the truth that all open software suck - I don’t know what to tell you.

Pun kinda meh, but like, unironically - this is my relationship goals.

2nd 8GB is like the ReadyBoost cache

RAM boost? ReadyBoost?

So it all just swap?

After quick search - it looks to be ml-generated (I refuse to call slightly advance math algorithm an AI). From reddit:

I believe it is AI to mimic the style of Rien Poortvliet from the book Gnomes (1977, Wil Huygen)

The earliest uses of this image I can find are 2023, and only as a meme

But if you want real-human art of gnomes, that book is for you!

The book in question:

Another book from other comment:

Here same meme, but in higher quality.

You currently just proving my point: Fedora is a corp managed distro.

I’m afraid we will disappoint you further here, cause steam machine is just a PC with SteamOS (which is “just” an Arch Linux with few tweaks\changes). So all those issues described above and their workarounds also applied to steam machine.

Same here.

And if there no protondb info or it have “platinum”, then start praying. Also, god forbid if you want something extra like FSR4 or install some mods. Then you mixing this things to whole “is that my hardware\software\proton issue or game genially bugged?”

Well, it just looks at your buying history and suggests ads based on that. My history is like, 50/50 IT and femboy stuff: starting from socks\dresses\dragon dildos and ending with eGPU dock stations, dummy HDMI plugs, spare parts, instruments, etc.

I’m stupid, you meant 51% discount on first ad. If only, it just shitty dress. And photo model most certainly a real girl. :c

If only custom roms was available for any phone tho. :c

Like, I had to buy new phone two years ago, cause my previous phone was falling apart (literally, I had to reglue the screen) and the only good option that was on the market without annoying notch for front-facing camera - was nubia z70. No notch, no weird “eyebrow”, nothing. Just screen, as it fucking supposed to be. Long story short, it have pretty fast snapdragon, but there no roms cause of that. Plus bootloader straight up locked from the factory and afaik, there no way to unlock it easily.

As Torvalds said “I don’t have backups, I just upload it to internet”

Take my upvote and get through this week

The most annoying thing is that they always go off the script pretty quickly. Like come on, you had one job mate, why.

Yes, 95C max for desktop CPU, 105C for notebook APU, became a default like, 20 years ago or so

Not gonna lie, ads there pretty funny.
