Tons of spam bots coming from this instance. It’s kind of ridiculous, something happen?

It was about 5 or 6 spam bots blasting out lots of spam; probably just someone abusing lemmy/smaller instances. I’ve turned off new account registration for now. Unfortunately the captcha system included in lemmy isn’t the most powerful. If you see any others report em and they’ll be banned

Is that why the site seemed to slow down suddenly, not that long ago? It does seem better now.

possible; If someone is spamming the API it can easily bog things down.
