Hit piece on a piece of shit leader of a shit company misses every target anyone cares about. Haha.

the company’s flailing AI efforts have been plagued by rock bottom morale, infighting, high-level executive departures, and related PR crises.

Sure. Whatever. They AI slopped worse than Google AI slopped.

Let’s all keep ignoring their campaign to end the entire concept of privacy.

has it ever had any effect on him?

Mark loves setting money on fire.

Sounds like their AI efforts will be as successful as the metaverse.

One hates to see it.

I for one love to see it.

“You hate to see it” is one of those phrases much more often said in sarcasm than in sincerity. I’m considering this a teachable moment.

Lol I know, I was being deliberately dumb.

Yes, but you unforunately gave people the choice between hating to see it and loving to see it, so now it’s basically a poll lol

BREAKING: Earl Zuckerberg has a row with Duke Pichai. Duke Musk petitions the Mad King to block Earl Amodei’s new AI model after he refused to provide the model for military use in the Mad King’s military.

He’s wiping his tears with hundred dollar bills. Google choosing between Apple and Facebook when the whole world is distracted by Anthropic’s dramadvertising.

Tl;dr: Meta has to use Gemini, because their own AI can’t keep up. And then Google cut off their access.

In yet another sign that his company is seriously struggling to keep up in the AI race, Google informed Meta earlier this year that it was cutting Meta off from the Gemini AI capacity it needed, the Financial Times reports.

Ironically, the lack of access to Gemini — which is far superior to anything Meta has built in-house — slowed down Meta’s own AI projects, including data moderation and customer services, highlighting how heavily Zuckerberg’s company is leaning on its competitors as its own AI efforts languish.

Gemini was supposed to be catching scammers for them.
But when caught, meta only charged them more, it didn’t delete the accounts.

Robots can feel humiliated?

No. Applying human emotions, traits, or intentions to non-human entities is called anthropomorphism.
It is rarely done regarding Zuckerberg, because he has very few aspects to anthropomorphize on.
But it makes the story more intersting when they can.

The more you know… 👍

At least Marvin could.

The revelation is bound to sting. Despite committing over half a trillion dollars over the next two years, the company’s flailing AI efforts have been plagued by rock bottom morale, infighting, high-level executive departures, and related PR crises.

No wonder everything is shit, when Zuckerberg was convinced that building a big enough LLM he would achieve strong AI! 🤣 🤣
AFAIK Meta had some of the biggest investments just a couple of years ago in AI on that basis! 🤥 🤡

Ah well, Zuckerberg may be stupid, but he will not suffer much, Facebook is still a money machine, and META can afford the losses, just as they could afford the losses on the Metaverse.

It’s worse for OpenAI, Palantir and SpaceX with XAI, because they don’t have a money machine to save them when the AI business fails.

Google, Microsoft and Meta (facebook) will be OK.

Got rather badly humiliated yet again. And long may it continue.

Zuck honestly scares me.

I legit believe you. There is literally no story about him that could ever come out and surprise me, unless it was a tale of genuine humanity and conscience.

Behind the human siding, there is definitely a certain unknown about him that can only be described as “not right.” Whatever was dark in him to start with, his riches and privilege have only magnified.

Yeah I’m sure Cuckerborg was reeeeal humiliated

The article is so weirdly insistent about Zuckerberg being personally humiliated. How me might feel doesn’t really seem to be the interesting thing about the story, but it’s all “Zuckerberg BTFO! Zuckerberg on suicide watch!” font and center.

This seems to be a tech corp script. Have one good thing, get rich, spend the next few decades failing at everything else you try.

At some point you just have to admit you’re really shit at stuff but just got lucky once. The odds will land on someone and that’s about as special as you are.

That’s how they get their initial business, that’s how they are finding the subsequent ones, just throwing spaghetti at the wall until something sticks

i kinda feel sorry for Yann LeCun and his team at FAI. he’s been saying from the beginning that LLMs are not the way forward for AI research as a field, and that has kept Meta from competing in this gold rush effectively. world models, multi-modality, etc are fine and good research but aren’t here to compete with Claude Code or even as effective at being good enough for stuff like search.

not to be too reductionist, but it’s a tough spot when your head of AI is insisting that this tech has no future when there is a literal $T market for it.

the irony is that these “frontier labs” like OpenAI and Anthropic have basically dropped every greenfield research project that doesn’t directly support their “agentic AI” infrastructure (ie endless Markdown prompts + a while loop) while the labs working on the true frontier are seen as failures because they can’t make a bazillion bucks burning megawatts of energy to replace their front end devs.

None of the frontier labs are making a bazillion bucks, nor do any of them even have a path to profitability without substantial breakthroughs in the research space.

i mean, people are making money. sure there are debts owed, but Mark isn’t going home to a 1br rental even after being so “humiliated”. the bag holders are the investors.

when there is a literal $T market for it.

Is there really?

yeah, i know the argument you’re trying to make, but that doesn’t change the actual capital and labor being used to create these things. whether it’s profitable once the investors run out of money is another story.

I see what you mean, but I’m still not sure I would describe that as a “market.”

Usually a market has both buyers and sellers.

yeah, i mean it’s all bit abstract, but that’s essentially what it is.

a concrete example would be Nvidia. they’re wildly profitable, and they don’t care how overleveraged you are as long as their barrels full of cash keep coming in.

i agree with you that there is a concerning amount of debt and leverage going on, but it’s undeniable there’s money changing hands.

but also, speaking of abstract, all this shit is made up and most of the money “moving” is just flipping some bits in a database somewhere. i also agree with you that it’s all a bit of a facade for people with power to play with power while the true “value” of society such as cost of living and quality of life take a low priority cuz “AI has a $T valuation”. but if you live in this system, this is what it is.

I’m confused, why is Google telling customers they can’t use it’s AI? Can they not keep up with demand?

That seems way more interesting a story than Meta relying on a competitor.

The Epstein class aren’t capable of that emotion. They can feel anger when they don’t get their way and pleasure at harming others and that’s about it.

Google: “cant help you bro, we’re busy shoving that shit into everything we have even though nobody wants it.”

The actual title: Google caps Meta’s Gemini use as AI demand strains capacity.

Down-voted due to bad source(Futurism) and bad title.

What are you talking about. The articles title is literally “Mark Zuckerberg Just Got Rather Badly Humiliated”.

With a rather humorous “That’s gonna leave a Mark.” for the subtitle.

Your acting like OP made the headline up.

Cool beans. We’re talking about the article OP posted.

The article that he posted have bad title and is written by bad news outlet(Futurism),IMO.
