Even a broken clock…
This saying never made sense to me. Sure, the clock is correct a couple times each day but I don’t know that because I already got rid of it and replaced it with a working clock.
“broken” and “stopped” are not the same thing. that’s why “even a broken clock…” doesn’t make sense. the wording should be “a stopped clock”
a “broken” one could just be a little “fast” or “slow”, spinning erratically, or otherwise inconsistent and unreliable, and rarely (if ever) report the correct time.

Being against the right thiig for the wrong reasons is still being against the right thing. I’ve had a few uncomfortable moments with RFK, Jr.
The enemy of my enemy?
Is paywall, when is it?
July 18 in certain states per the official website: https://www.humansfirst.com/july-18-datacenters
The twin headed hydra at it again.
One does the thing, the other complains, we the people suffer the consequences.

The actual group leading the protest. Because I was just hit with a paywall on mobile.
Chair is a former tea party leader. So, definitely conservatives. The people leading these groups can still be pieces of shit. But, the important thing to understand is that there is a real demand for stopping AI within the working class. So much so that even conservative politicians are realizing they have to do something to keep their jobs.

A broken clock is right twice a day.
More like a misprinted calendar is right once a year.
Sometimes even a calculator can be a clock.
They can also spell 80082
This sounds great!
If you go to their website and see some more valid concerns mixed with these valid ones. Noise pollution. Children being driven to suicide. But wait, there’s some weird stuff.
And then you look at their call to action, and it features nothing about water, air, noise, energy, land pollution, child abuse, suicide. The only part left is the wacky stuff, warning AI will become super powerful and begging for strict regulation and testing that would squeeze out anybody but the biggest AI companies.
This project is a fucking bait and switch.
Frontier AI models will be restricted only for government and megacorp use, not available to all, that was always the goal.
This just gets plebes on board with it.
maybe start protesting the cheeto in the white house shitposting AI images all the damn time.
No no no, trust me, they all use AI. They just don’t want it in their backyards.
This is the kind of stuff they use to build in predominantly minority neighborhoods. White people are angry that their skin color is no longer protecting them from it.
Aiming the NIMBY cannon at the right target for once. Broken clock and all.
fukken lol
lmao even
Do I even dare a ROFL?
I think that would be appropriate.

Obligatory “nobody tell them” comment
Which nation?
I think the US, but the website is paywalled so can’t be sure. Not bet on brand for them I must say. Normally that are all in favour of killing the future in favour of a quick buck.
Cool. They’re still raping kids though.
How shocking that this suddenly coincides with every AI model now charging even for “free” use
