Cool that they’re switching to Wayland by default - I’ll be curious what the general reaction is

Nobody should be using steamos on a non-steam-deck so I don’t really see it mattering much, I basically never use desktop mode.

Every time i open an update page on steam I am scared that there is only a link stating “read the changes on discord…”

Well hopefully you wont have to keep using Discord for too long.

Fluxer (in beta) and Stoat are alternatives that are potentially better alternatives. :)

Valve would have to use them.

I dont use discord at all, because its an adwall and not a messenger for me. But i hate devs who think its enough “documentation” to put infos just on discord or other platforms where you have to register before you can read infos about stuff you bought.

Tbf I only use it for a few very minimal things that have been setup by people that want ‘easy’ or people that are following the crowd like RPG publishing houses. :)

Plasma 6.4? But I’m already on plasma 6.7!

(C’mon there has to be ONE person complaining about SOMETHING, right? This is after all the Internet.)

Lots of big fixes and updates. I love that they’re actively providing support and fixes even for 3rd party handhelds. Doesn’t really benefit them, but they’re doing it.

The better the Steam ecosystem works on third party handhelds, the more chance those users will buy Steam games.

And the better the Steam ecosystem works on Linux, SteamOS and other distros, the bugger chance that gamers are moving to Linux and that developers are adding support for Linux. Which makes Steam less dependent on Microsoft/Windows.
