Senior Chief Petty Officer. Starfleet is in my blood, and I’ve spent my entire adult life in service to boldly going.

Keiko and Molly are my favorite humans, but Transporter Room 3 will always be my favorite.

Just don’t ask who what’s in the pattern buffer.

It didn’t seem condescending to me.

Personally I like having my cds put of nostalgia. I don’t spend all that time making multiple cds for large games like horizon zero dawn because I think it’ll stand the test of time lol. Most of the cds I had when they were the standard aren’t functional anymore, but damn if I don’t enjoy it when my little usb disc tray pops out.

It’s generally correct to assume the average pc user doesn’t make backups of anything. I once had a friend call me to their house in a panic because their work laptop ate shit and they had absolutely nothing saved externally. With a recovery company, he managed to scrape about 10% of his client data, and their bank lost a looooooot of reputation over it. Now their laptops do company-wide backups to a single cloud service twice a day. (I asked what they’re gonna do if the cloud service goes down and the answer he gave was “look for a new job” lmao)

I have other backups, I just get nostalgic for the days of Command and Conquer.

I mean, I have an external hdd I keep a backup of important files on, and an ssd I use to transfer things onto a second computer, and it’s just a full backup of my primary pc.

I combine the two.

Burn offline drm free installers onto blank cds.

Well… Dvds, I can fit some older games into cds but they don’t have the same capacity.

I’ve been burning cds with my offline installers on every game I can. Finding blank cds in physical stores is hard, I lucked out finding this stack brand new at a thrift store.

I would very much like to have a desktop with cd racks filling the frame around it again.

Yeah, nothing stopped them from trashing the postal service for the last election in an extremely transparent way, I don’t actually see this court order being effective.

Or at least as effective as every other court order seems to have been for the regime.

“The whites” literally went to war over slavery. What they mean is “the conservative whites”

I have freaked out several people because I stop mid-drive to carry turtles across the road.

Remember: take it to the side it’s moving toward or it will just cross again.

The only approach I see is hands out in a “the fuck are you doing, dude” kind of way. Even if the owner ran out yelling, driver’s response is over the top. Just keep walking away.

Me, before clicking: “please be E&I…. Please be E&I…. click as yeah.”

I don’t do chemistry stuff, but damn do I love his videos.

I’m glad the bird that keeps nesting in the shed is okay. (I like to think it’s always the same one)

There was a bigger turnout for our hastily organized last minute pride in a rural red state town.

Steam box =/= normal gaming pc

My 5 year old pre built acer laptop is around the same price and specs, and only the cpu is better on the steam square.

Comparing the release of ps5 with current day stuff seems weird. Why not compare with the launch of valve? Or personal computers in general?

Coming soon to interview questions ner you: “are you now, or have you ever been a re ipient of medicaid?”

Followed by mysterious ghosting of anyone who said “yes”

Completely unrelated, of course.

….. People actually do app subscriptions? Not a meme, I’m actually asking because that sounds crazy to me.

It’s a sawyer, and both marketing materials and real world testing say otherwise. Personal experience also tells me my filter is keeping me healthy while my neighbors don’t even bother listening to boil advisories.

For drinking pure water, we use a brita tap filter, and a sawyer filter straw, and just have it gravity feed into a pitcher. The pitcher usually doesn’t last a full day.

For cooking, we just use the tap filter and a cheap gravity filter with a reservoir. No need to go all out when you’re boiling the water lol

The Sawyer filter can be cleaned by forcing distilled water through in reverse, it unclogs the straw/membrane filter, but it only works for so long. Luckily the sawyer still works like a charm after thousands of gallons.

Disclaimer: I have not been testing for bacteria or other contaminants, I just go by taste and swap filters when something tastes off. I have no proof this filters everything, but neighbors have gotten sick around times when boil advisories go out, when we’ve been healthy the whole time. Could just be coincidence.

I’ve been using a water filter to filter my tap water for years, because tap water tastes nasty.

WHO’S LAUGHING NOW, BITCHES! I mean, not me because things still suck, but at least I’m reasonably sure I won’t get a disease after my city reduced funding for water treatment.

Yeah but that’s different.

Because….. Something something USA sucks HAHAHA A PWND now let me spam emojis and gifs while pointing out spelling and grammar errors because I have no real argument and just want to feel smugly superior.

/s, obviously.

So a court has told another court to stop looking into court cases (and the people not following court orders) and let people not follow court orders.

So court orders are meaningless.

The Bible I read definitely had something to say about nobody except god knowing when jesus was supposed to come back.

Certainly never said you could summon God with a blood sacrifice.

Then again, most Christians have never read the Bible. If they had, they would probably be like me and no longer believe.

View it from the perspective of someone who doesn’t hate McDonald’s and the grease their food slid in on.

I’m sure there’s someone out there who thinks the fallout series is all bad.

They’re objectively wrong of course, but they still hold that belief.

Never let a working man slander the name of my father.

He was the union man.

It allows rainwater to be absorbed rather than running off causing flooding.

There’s an old theater I performed at twice in Southern Ohio. Built before the Civil War, and surrounded by brick buildings, a brick street out front, brick alley, and brick parking lot area.

The second time I was there, the street had been paved, as had the back parking area, and large portion of surrounding alleys. Only the single side alley was still brick.

The first time it rained the week I was there, the basement, while not flooded completely, had so much water running through it to the sunken boiler room, the owners had to toss down some quick 2x4 walkways so nobody was ruining costumes and footwear or slipping and suing. The walls of the basement looked like mini waterfalls.

I popped outside during a lull and the back parking area and alley were basically acting as a funnel, pushing all the water right up to the sides of the building.

I just checked a satellite map view and it looks like they’ve at least re-paved the back alley (don’t know if it drains any better but it’s clearly much darker and there’s lines painted) and the building beside it is gone and instead there’s a ton of grass. So maybe it’s better, but I’m sure they shortened the remaining life of the building by a ton.

Surface looks damp, leaves and pine needles tend to stick a lot.

However, by the time you are done blowing, the surface will be bone dry and nobody will slip!

To me bats are only jump-scary, like paranormal activity.

They’re too cute up close to be afraid of, they only get me when I’m walking at night and one passes close enough for me to hear it flapping for a split second, which doesn’t happen every day, but several times a day since I walk my dogs down a road with a forest to live in on one side and a field filled with juicy bugs for them to eat on the other.

I had one take up residence in the corner of my porch covering, it made me jump a little the first time I noticed it move, but I liked checking on him every morming

“we cannot get out: the end comes soon we hear drums drums in the deep. They are coming”

I mean…. He’s already destroyed what reputation and goodwill the country had with most friendly nations, and that won’t be likely to ever recover. Certainly not for many decades. The country itself is in quite a bit of internal turmoil.

He is unlikely to destroy the world, but plenty of insane Nationalist Christians believe the end is close and want to bring about global war so a carpenter who died a couple thousand years ago can come out of the celestial closet he’s been hiding in. So while unlikely, he’s got people trying to make it happen.

I have several hobbies that could make bank if I wanted to put in time and effort.

That requires treating executive dysfunction, which can’t happen unless I have money. In order to get money I have to work jobs I absolutely hate, and that suck all energy and will to live out of me, and I don’t want to do anything with my hobbies.

If I didn’t have to worry about food, housing, and whether I have electricity or not, I could sell a handful of things a month and be just fine on utilities and a luxury purchase every so often.

“So our next recipe comes to us all the way from Arrakis! Now, this one calls for Spice Melange, but if you don’t have that, Chai tea is an acceptable substitute…”

My headcannon: having read the Absolutely 100% canon books “Q-zone, W-Strike, and Q-space”, my personal belief is that since Q is partially responsible for the entity in the center claiming to be god, Q decided to artificially speed up their journey to the barrier and back home. Nobody on the ship brought it up because nobody was even thinking about travel time in the middle of all that.

That hat is very cunning, I think.

Person walks down the street wearing *that*, people know they’re not afraid of *anything*.

Well you see, the people in charge of tuning the replicator just need to be motivated by death, and then they’ll find a workaround for literally any shortcoming!

Cant replicate a phased electron catalyzer and we don’t have a backup? Well if you don’t, everyone on this ship and that planet are dead in 20 minutes, so just invert the hadron matrix and it won’t be a problem anymore!

(repeat every other season)

Imagine someone using the same “that was stupid therefore they deserved the punishment” logic with another country attacking some US facility…

The only things it needs are power and base material.

The problem with complex things like starships and the like are some things can’t be replicated, they have to be manufactured, refined, or otherwise produced.

Gotta have something to cripple how overpowered they are.

“this is the future the left wants under COMMIESOCIALMARXISM!”

dystopian picture of current day late-stage-capitalism in the US

I’d spend the rest of my life trying to uncover every secret I can.

Imagine how many secret passages there must be…

But you see, it’s different because the US is only supplying the orphan crushing machine, keeping it running, and making more. It’s okay as long as we aren’t actually throwing the orphans in ourselves!

This has the same energy as “I hate my wife/husband” boomer humor.
