Worker who allegedly set fire to California warehouse compares self to Luigi Mangione

I wonder, what’s more expensive: a decent wage for warehouse workers or the aftermath of a $600m arson?

Heard someone call him Paper Mario
District attorney’s quote in the LA Times article this one sources:
Arson to me is a real head-scratcher. I do not understand … somebody who is suspected of arson does something where they get no value out of it
He’s only got half of the equation here. People generally don’t premeditate actions when they expect to lose more than they’ll get out of it. This story is so sad when you realize that this guy got to the point where he concluded prison couldn’t be any worse. I don’t think that just manifests out of thin air overnight after a couple hard days.
Look, America is founded on free enterprise and capitalism,” said Bill Essayli, the first assistant United States attorney for the central district of California, during the press conference. “Anyone who attacks our values, our way of life, our system, which provides the best goods and services to the most people, we’re gonna come after aggressively.
Well, no it was founded by a bunch of rich aristocrats who didn’t want to pay taxes, much like modern corporate America. The party you support literally ignores the founding legal document of the nation. It provides the cheapest garbage it can to most people and overcharged as much as possible, exploiting human needs as leverage to extract value. It kills and harms people constantly and is literally destroying the American way of life in the process
Bet you a dollar they wanted it to be the robots. Now collecting insurance is gonna be a bitch.
Massive warehouse, huge risk of injury or death to people, and of all things paper products. Time to clear cut more forests. I get the sentiment but this doesn’t actually seem productive
His motivation was about unsustainably low wages. That goes for so many of these mega corporations
Well close, but was the CEO in the warehouse when he lit it on fire? And what’s guy look like? But beyond that I would chip into his legal funds. Fuck that company and hope insurance doesn’t pay.
Certainly comparable… Less instances of murder, less direct impact on accused social justice offenders, more impact on fellow victims of accused social justice offender.
Likely not as well thought out action, more emotional reaction.
Certainly comparable.

Luigi made the rich more fearful than this dude but I think his acts have more potential for virality because his act was much more simple and not straight up killing another human(well at least human on paper). Person to person violence is not something most humans want to participate in unless they absolutely must to survive, destruction of property, especially property they likely dread going to for their jobs, is a far more palatable action for the average person to engage in.
In Minecraft obviously
good comment great disclaimer
It’s an old Minecraft mod, but it checks out
Well…
That guy’s a fucking idiot
No rationale person believes any of that shit.
What are these goods and services and where can I get some?
From a local mom and pops shop. Sadly most of them are gone, also ACE.
Step 1: have monies
Nurse, ready a syringe of propofol.
Are the quality goods and services in the room with you right now?
His brain has been rotted by capitalism
Ha ha, I know, he is protecting our American values, of mega corporations crushing our democracy and , uh values, as laid out in the constitution.
He is playing to the administration and their backers, for promotion. They are all parasites.
Remember, corporation man: Living wages are cheaper than a revolution! Bonus, you get to keep your neck intact! 😉
What the hell did Luigi ever do?
Captured our hearts ❤️
<click-click> sploosh went the world.
Get set up by the man.
We are all inspired by these men.
His name was Robert paulson. Or something.
No, he gets a place in there alright. Also, Luigi might be innocent. People find killing others not palatable (unless they’re brown people on the other side of the world), but causing material damage with no human causalities? That resonates a lot more.
Also, there’s an Amazon warehouse in Queens, NY burning right now as we speak. Possible copycat.
Ain’t no ‘might be’, he is. I saw that dude helping an old lady cross the road on in Miami on the evening of the shooting and I know it was him because he said ‘Hello my name is Luigi Mangione’ and showed me his driver’s license without me having to ask, such a nice kid.
It’s true, I had been discouraging the lady from crossing the street at the time. “You’ll never make it! You don’t have what it takes anymore!” I was saying, but Luigi wasn’t having it.
Paper Luigi
Flashpaper Luigi
Luigi is innocent.
how about Walugi?
As in WArehouse Luigi.
Seems like things are getting started, based on this story you could say things are really heating up.
Based on LA Times reporting, I consider him more of a Milton.
Still valid, though. Living wages are cheaper than over half a B in paper products.
Who is Milton?
Milton from the movie Office Space.
Ah thanks, I never got into that one much for whatever reasons.
It’s a good movie, definitely worth a watch. Especially if you’ve ever had a pointless job you hated.
Here’s a milton-summary. NB: spoilers.
