LOL… In September 25, 1793….nothing weird happened exactly over this couch that I’m sleeping on. With me so far? Then the next day again nothing. A kid got a couple of birds with one stone and started propagating that myth. Other than that and a corps flower flowering in the Amazon somewhere, nothing noteworthy happened that year on my couch.
In 1793 people in my town were still talking about all the places George Washington slept for a night just a generation ago.
In 1813 people in my town were talking about the witch trial that ended in acquittal. They didn’t know that it would be the last witch trial in America.
32 years later General Sherman would try and fail to burn down our courthouse. No one talks about where he slept. No one says witchcraft saved the courthouse.
