The oven was claimed to help with gastrointestinal issues such as constipation and irritable bowel syndrome… dermal issues such as skin disease, open sores, and ulcers… heart issues such as heart arrhythmia and heart failure… kidney issues, bladder issues, irregular blood pressure, malnutrition, diabetes, obesity, flat feet, hay fever, Bright’s disease, edema, tonsillitis, gangrene, pre-eclampsia… lung related issues such as asthma and tuberculosis…

Treats obesity and hay fever. Heart failure and flat feet.

Sounds legit.

Temperatures ranging from 350 to 500 degrees F have been applied…with comfort and safety….the extreme heat is hardly noticeable….

That’s 260 degrees Celsius. Water boils at 100 degrees Celsius (212 degrees Fahrenheit) at sea level.

From the Wikipedia page on the World Sauna Championships, which exposed people to temperatures far lower than the above-advertised ‘500 Degrees Fahrenheit’.

On 7 August 2010, two competitors were removed from the sauna and brought to the hospital in critical condition after six minutes of 110 °C (230 °F) heat, both suffering from serious burns and trauma. Russian finalist and former third-place finisher Vladimir Ladyzhensky, an amateur wrestler, was dragged out, suffering from convulsions, burns, and blisters. Ladyzhensky died despite resuscitation. Finnish five-time champion Timo Kaukonen was, according to a spectator, able to leave the sauna with assistance. He was reported to suffer from extreme burn injuries and his condition was described as critical but stable.

You would think, but no. It was Fahrenheit. They rarely (if ever) went to 500 F though.

Look at the newspaper article: https://lemmy.zip/post/68972958/28002374 edmonton was canada, and they didnt start using metric for temp until the 70’s I think.

Also the wikipedia article says this as well. Its F!
