I decided to buy as I don’t need to move around much, and I vastly prefer fixing stuff myself rather than paying for someone to do it for me. (When other people fix shit, it’s either expensive or sub-par)
I assure you the renter pay more than the land lords expenses
Rule of thumb ive heard a few times is, if you plan on living there at least 5 years, buy it
Of course most people don’t buy, and renting its their only option, but not always. I got a well paid colleague who is renting and has no plan on buying anything. Its just not for everyone.
Of course it also very much depend where you live.

I’m similar, my only rule is I don’t work on gas or complicated electricity. Too risky, bring in a pro.
I’ll work on complicated 12V no problem, but prefer leaving even fairly simple 240V to pros.
I’m less worried about being electrocuted and more worried about creating a fire hazard
If my car burns down, it burns down. I’ll buy a similarly priced beater.
If I get electrocuted with 240, I could die though. Plus if my house burns down it’s gonna be a bit of a bigger deal than the car
It’s usually both, and it usually takes more of your time to arrange things than to fix it.
Trolling with land chads memes today I see. And very effectively.
Fr fr on Gawd. A Buddy in my group chat was complaining about his landlord, another started flooding the chat with memes like this.
Lol someone already downvoted. Do people here not know of the satire/honeypot that was r/landchads?
I couldn’t be happier
I got you.

Nah this isn’t a meme or a satirical joke, it’s factual and you’re correct to take it as such.
People are really not getting your sarcasm
That makes it so much more funny for me the current 7/25 ratio is hilarious. Ideally we stay single digits up and reach triple digits down.
Your double-down sarcasm is too powerful for us
Ratio too positive rn we need more down stat
Ok, so how does this work otherwise?
Now you’re getting it. The system doesn’t work without the heroic landlord class.
The fact that we call property owners “landlords”
Well yeah, they earned the title of lord by being financially, morally and genetically superior.
They could sac themselves and it would be a positive for everyone.
