And there happened to be a pervert watching, who said “Oh, look at that! A corn dog without the corn! Showing it’s skin like it’s naked!!! Oh, that is a hot dog if I’ve ever seen one! Which I haven’t, because this is the first time someone’s ever stripped a corndog….”
And so it was! A naked corn dog was now known as a hot dog.

So in fact, the term “dog” meaning “sausage” does likely originate in sausages sometimes containing dog meat in the past.

Ive had a couple that were likely made of dogs
The thought of mustard on deep-fried batter makes me shudder. I don’t even think I’ve seen a mustard bottle at a place making these.
