Does this mean they will stop swatting since they can detect if the call is legit?
That seems actually like a rather intelligent use of AI. Translation, location identification.
We get promised AI will cure cancer and safe the climate. While not that big of a thing, at least this one saves lifes
A good use except for the unavoidable hallucinations and errors in a piece of critical infrastructure.

What are the Vegas odds that this kills someone? Multiple someones.
Depends on how this is implemented. If it’s llm based that’s stupid and will probably kill people. Now it’s been well known for years you can ping a phone from 3 different towers, measure rate of response, and use math to calculate where the call is coming from. Take that, take a list of on duty ems/fire/police, compare each location to emergency location to determine who can get their fastest, use something like Google maps, open street maps, apple maps whatever to determine best route and pass that on to the ems/fire/police people. I can see that as useful. I can see someone making that and tagging on “Ai” as marketing.
Some marketing guy making some examples with various emergencies, locations of people and traffic conditions and saying “see it’s non deterministic so it’s Ai”
