Personally, I don’t know what goes on in North Korea. Nobody does. The media prevents us from seeing North Korea beyond the spectacles that Western media presents. Such as totalitarian tropes, things like that.

I would imagine malnutrition is real, although sanctions and blockades are just as responsible as a lack of arable land. You cannot say the same of the RoK, which is still deeply intertwined with the US military industrial complex as well as Wall Street, and derives a lot of its political legitimacy not from popular support (given how many of their former presidents are jailed) but their proximity to the military power still occupying them with so many military bases.
