If you hadn’t posted it, I was going to.

“If a PIECE will fascinate her…”

I’m not a woman, but I will admit that giving me cheese gets you my full attention, if not outright devotion.

Steam the what? STEAM THE WHAT?!

Steam the hams, obviously.

It is forbidden knowledge. Ask about it no more!

Does it have to be name brand rue, or can I use the generic store brand?

What happens when you get her to your room and she says “Is that my shoe?”

If she doesn’t want him I’ll take him, cheese is one of the ways to my heart.

Chocolate+red wine for breakups and periods

The wine goes in the sauce, and you can grate the chocolate for a topping

Or you can just enjoy the mac & cheese, chocolate, and wine separately, like a non-psycho!

Do you also eat you bread and hunk of meat separate, you medieval peasant?

Or, and I’m just spitballing here, a dash of mustard and paprike with a buttery crumb topping. Which would be complimentary to macaroni and cheese and not make your mouth scream in agony at the fact that you are eating three things that do not in any way shape or form go together in one dish.

Then maybe give them the wine and chocolate as a dessert.

Optionally for periods the wine can be white since you get free red dye

Uh. That’s enough internet for me today.

He’s got the right idea honestly.

Cheese is expensive af. And tasty!

Add jam or dulce de leche and the combo becomes a thing of dreams 🤤

Add a piece of dark chocolate with chili pepper, everyone looks at you funny when you suggest it, but it’s always the combo they make for themselves afterwards.

Guava jam, salami and provolone also go fantastic together. They hit the stomach like a bomb the first time, but it’s easy to get used to too.

Not if you’re a farmer who’s making it. No fake inflationary markup.

If he made it himself, it’s a rather thoughtful and personal gift! I’m cheering for cheese man

Does your sister live in Stardew Valley?

Legendary lineup i just got

I showed my wife this. Asked her what if I gifted her a wheel of cheese for our anniversary.

She said she would remarry me. But it would depend on the kind of cheese.

An aged cheese the age of your anniversary would be a cool gift. But it would get very expensive very fast

When I worked in telecom, suppkier would always send candy or other crap by Christmas time. One supplier sent me a wheel if cheddar. Still remember this 15 years later. But I’ve forgotten every other supplier

I would 100% prefer getting potatoes and/or cheese instead of flowers. I don’t like getting flowers.

It’s like 3 minutes if “aww they’re so pretty” and then a week or two of watching them die

I’d be ok with a flowering plant, something I can put in a pot or the garden and it’ll live.

How about these flowers?

I’m a guy, and I generally go commando, but lemme tell you, panties would materialize on me just so they could drop

Damn thats not a cheap wheel of cheese. Date #2 on the table… next to the cheese

Yeah flowers can be like 8-30€. That wheel of cheese is worth a whole fortune. A kg of really cheap cheese already goes for like 10€/kg.

He can afford to feed her. Clearly a catch.

…people always like to forget, how much in love relies on instinct.

I plant the potatoes and wait until they flower out of spite.

(well, more accurately, because I have a small farm, but still some spite).

Reminds me of that high dude who bought 40 pounds of parmesan because it was mistakenly labeled as dirt cheap.

Reminds me of a guy who ordered pizza to the pub but didn’t want to make the landlord cross so he got enough for everyone. I had three slices and some of his weed.

My wife ordered it cheese -> potatoes -> flowers

Now that’s a keeper.

Marriage material. Cheese is my love language.

And just like that… late stage capitalist society winds back at hunter/gatherer tribal norms.

How did he hunter/gather a cheese wheel?

Haven’t you seen the traditional British reenactment of a bronze age cheese hunt?

What kind of question is this? Have you never played Skyrim?

Bro have you seen the price of cheese these days ? I almost felt like crying in front of the pitiful slice of comté costing 38€/kg in the store’s fridge yesterday.

(Though this screenshot is a few years older than the inflation spike)

Back in the days when men used to try to charm me with flowers, I remained polite & grateful on the surface but LIVID on the inside because

If he really loved me he’d think about what things I actually need/want, and spend that precious money on something useful & thoughtful. Flowers are so ridiculously EXPENSIVE & USELESS then they DIE, so men who buy flowers are either wealthy & stupid, or poor & stupid. Financially irresponsible.

They smell nice. And they look nice. For a week

They were dead the moment they were plucked from the soil.

True, but you can zombify them with some water

I agree, but on a small technicality that i would still love plants. If its not meant to die and be wasteful, i will cherish it. But no one really means that when they say flowers as a gift.

I’d carve out an exception for responsibly gathered flowers.

Yes perhaps but the only way to legally responsibly gather flowers is if the flower giver has their own garden on their own property. Very rare scenario nowadays.

Well, i do have a pretty nice balcony selection. That said, though, i don’t think anyone would care about me pulling some tansies, lupins, daisies, or poppies from a vacant lot. You could do a lot just with grasses too.

Edit: ooh, i forgot clover flowers. Amazingly pretty. Dandelions are lovely too.

Edit 2: just saw a big cluster of forget-me-nots

If a romantic suitor handed me a bouquet of weeds, how do you think that would affect my perception of him? Again I say if he urgently wants to give me something to show his love for me, he will evaluate my life & my needs & gift me something I actually want & need. THAT is what wins a girl’s heart. Not dead plants.

I think in my case, if you judged a gift of hand-selected wildflowers as a bouquet of weeds, I think we both would have established each other’s bona fides and we’d be done, so that’s kind of a win-win there. :)

Yeah I am going with the person who likes potatoes

Cheese-Flowers-Potatoes for me which incidentally is also arranged highest price to lowest. My kids got me a wheel of Humboldt Fog one year for Christmas. Cheese is a fantastic gift.

Well, this would def be appreciated by me (oh fuck, this is goin to be fire with pasta and also costs a lot) and my instincts (oh damn, this guy has food)

What kind of cheese though?

Ah, young romance. Actually, it’s a good strategy to find out if she can cook. You’ll never be sorry you married a good cook.
