Ukraine is trying to drag Iran into its war.

Ukraine struck an Iranian commercial vessel, killing at least one sailor and wounding several others. The ship, laden with steel, was sailing from Russia’s Astrakhan Port to Iran’s Anzali Port when it was hit.
Reason for title laid out in the article.

I talked to some Ukrainians on the platform about this and all they could do is claim foreign vessels are legitimate targets if they’re part of a supply chain and supplement it with either racism or “Iranians are oppressed we’re doing them a favor by attacking their government”
Just absolutely insane!
nothing about this situation is sane, so we shouldn’t expect it.
It just helps Russia and Iran to increase cooperation. Russia could ask Iran for manpower in return for technology know-how. Russia is struggling with manpower; Iran is struggling with know-how and technology
Russia’s struggle hardly compares to Ukraine’s. It hasn’t even formally declared war yet, which is required for full mobilization. It’s still fighting with one hand tied behind its back.
Russia should not need full mobilization. Ukraine should need full mobilization.
What is formally declared war, if today’s fight is not a war?
Note: I am a neutral person and just seeking justice and balance
It unquestionably is a war *de facto*, but de jure within the state of Russia, it’s a “special military operation.”

I don’t know Russian law and what approval may be needed from the Duma, but if we’re being honest and not overglazing Putin, I wonder if it’s some similar reason to this:

Wikipedia has a list of United States military conflicts, since our inception (it’s long), and very few have been officially declared war.
I’m imagining Russia and any other state operated on similar bases, but obviously an not positive. And right now I cba ti ho digging, as I’ve other things to sort. Maybe I will if I have time and remember. Or maybe anyone else will.
Yeah, that’s why. In all contexts but one, this is a war. It’s only in the context of the Russian state, as a sovereign state with a body of law, that it’s an SMO.
No one disagrees that the Korean War was a war, but in the context of the US government & law at the time, it was a police action.
Neither is actually true, Russia still have more volunteers than needed to replace the losses, and Iran, at least in fields used in this war, is ahead of most of the world - including even USA.
The situation is different. Iran doesn’t have a ground war. Israel or the USA can’t sustain a ground war.
But this is reality: it is not sustainable. You don’t want to lose your best engineer in the war, right? You should also think after the war
Depends what you think “sustainable” means. Nobody every think they can wage infinite wars (except maybe Americans who don’t have any experience of actually dying in them in numbers) but so far it’s been sustainable and barred some unexpected development like US nuking Russia it will be sustainable for as long as it would need to be to defeat Ukraine. About the engineers that’s the neat part of country having functional education system (again unlike USA and Ukraine), unless they are nuked they won’t lose that many of them in the war that it will be impossible to replace them. Russia is also not on the really war economy too.
Again, there was no mobilisation in Russia while Ukraine do massive manhunts on the streets.
