Tried to get people into it. Even posted some theory to incentivise people to join. I think the lack of push notifications and its on/off nature didn’t interest people.
Awww. Please don’t kill Briar. It’s my main way forward when chat control kicks in 😔
There are thankfully still plenty of decentralized messaging apps. Delta Chat, Simplex, and Matrix come to mind.
btw, have you used Briar a lot? Because I’ve found the user interface with the “forums” to be painful, especially the more I try using it.
I use it almost daily but only to a single contact (the one I could convince to use this). I have tried delta and simplex but could not get excited about them.
I have no experience with the foeuma option in Briar. Sounds interesting enough.

@beep Briar is currently in maintenance mode. Zerion started as a Briar fork, but we’ve continued active development and have now replaced the original Bramble transport with our own protocol in Zerion 3.0. We’re grateful to Briar for the foundation, and I2P support is planned for the 3.x series.
