It’s incredible to me that Mississippi somehow didn’t make this list.
Mississippi in the past 10 years has reformed its education part so its no longer bottom of the barrel in education anymore.

Mississippi actually does deserve a lot of credit for the effort it’s put into literacy. Kids who fall behind get extensive tutoring during school hours (not making it an extra program they have to attend after school was important), emphasis on phonics (a huge problem with reading education for years, everywhere in the US has been deviating from that), etc. if every state did that for kids we’d be a lot better off.
Not to mention South Carolina. I’m surprised it beat Utah.

Yeah. I fucking hated every minute I lived there. The only positive is the outdoors, but that too is slowly being polluted and dismantled. Stay strong, I believe that you’ll get out of there at some point if that’s what you desire.
