Clicking through and looking up on Wikipedia, Mean Hamster has been a niche game studio for decades (pocket pc, amiga, retro Atari cartridges). Also it’s now purely a family operation with all people who don’t have the same last name as the CEO marked as former team members.
Dude is in his 50s now, so maybe he’s working with his family on a cool project and living his best life, I like that interpretation.
