Tbh, I would spring for the Air. Even if the average person doesn’t notice a speed difference, the QoL you’re getting is a lot better. I think the Neo is going to be good shorr term money maker, but hurts long term reputation.
I’ll put it this way, if I say I have a Rolex watch, you know it’s going to be nice and expensive because that’s all they make. That’s Apple, they made more expensive laptops but they were all really good quality, build, ect.
Now I tell you I have a Citizen watch, you’re like ok ok cool. Because you know Citizens are sold at JC Penny’s. But Citizen has a bad rep because they make cheap and expensive watchs, and don’t have nearly the weight of Rolled despite them having models that cost just as much and even have better automatic movements. But they also offer watches for normal people.
Apple went from Rolex which is why everyone has to have one, to Citizen because they now make a watered down affordable product. It would be like Rolex making a $100 watch, it world sell like mad initially, now if they kept producing models in a few years Rolex/Apple won’t be synonymous with expensive/quality. Same way with Samsung, they make more expensive phones than Apple, but they also make cheaper affordable ones. Thus Apple is considered more premium.
