Maybe compare their economy before the revolution with the 70s, look up the space race, or the history of jet airliners, and preferably use sources other than US media. They went from literally starving peasants to being on par with the west within 50 years.

… have you ever considered comparing the economic growth of non-Soviet countries in similar positions to the Russian Empire in that same time period?
The result makes the Soviet Union seem very unimpressive, I’m afraid.

I said “I don’t know they were ever all that economically successful”; I refrained from commenting negatively on their technological success for a reason. For all the many issues I have with the Soviet Union, “did not invest in science and engineering” is not one of them.

That is not a serious examination of either the late Russian Empire or the 1970s Soviet Union.
