Much like health insurance CEOs getting waxed, destroying flock cameras seems to be one thing almost everyone agrees on.

This article reminded me to check deflock.me where I found that in the last 90 days my city finally got a Flock camera. There’s only one but I’ve been driving by the damn thing every day on my way to work without realizing it.

I’d like to know whose responsible for it; City, County, or State but regardless I now have a decision to make.

Thanks for this link, wasn’t aware of it. I am now aware that my city and the surrounding cities are fucking flooded with them all over. 😐

Get ‘em while they’re hot!

One day, these things are going to be novelty items with a pretty neat history about surveillance capitalism and Americans efforts to fight back. Having one, by that point, will be pretty awesome.

Just one? Good reason to be a hoarder or collector.

I’ve heard sometimes they just put up the cameras and ask for permission from the city after.

The next stage of this is going to be models of Flock cameras that look like other common security cameras, or a Flock module that plugs into existing security cameras and adds them to the network.

Like this?

Mass Surveilance System… Online.

I Need to show this video to someone i know

Aren’t flock camera more than just cameras as they scan for Bluetooth / wifi devices

Sure, but there’s no reason they couldn’t be built into an enclosure that looks like other security cameras.

Alternatively, you just build a little box that has that extra stuff and plugs into a normal security camera, and you bury the box in the ground or put it inside a locked utility cabinet or something.

Yes, they are static wardriving nodes as well as cameras

I mean, plenty of security cameras have WiFi capabilities. Adding bluetooth wouldn’t be a very big lift. It definitely wouldn’t be big enough to prevent a smaller form factor.

The next stage of this is having cops patrol flock cameras.

The whole ‘mass surveillance’ thing sort of does away with a need for traditional patrols.

How long do you figure before they get the Flock AI declared a police officer, therefore any damage to an AI-enabled device counts as assaulting an officer?

Clearly professional operatives paid by China to ensure America falls behind in unwanted surveillance technology 🤔. /s

If only people would be this militant about the sensor node they carry around all the time.

That sensor node comes with lots of direct benefits for the person carrying it. Flock cameras have literally zero direct benefits.
