I’m a bit confused. Are they protesting a switch to Linux, or protesting that Win OS’s go extinct too quickly?

They are protesting against windows planned obsolescence. It will make millions computers unusable.

And they also promote switching to linux :)

I’m translating some part of the video so that you can understand their message better :

  • on the coffin : 300 millions of computers
  • Farewell Windows, Hello to Free Software
  • don’t waste/bury computers, free them

Thanks! Spoken French is too fast for me to understand.

windows planned obsolescence

Okay, so basically the 2nd thing I mentioned. Not that Windows is totally going extinct as an OS. (altho that might be a nice idea, hehe)

Good for these people, then.

Sadly, i’m Deaf so i can’t transcript the speech in the video but they probably talked about the environment’s impact & free software. Alternatiba is NGO that fight against climate change similar to greenpeace.

Anyway, i hope it will give us some ideas. :)

Fellow disabled-person, salut! (I have CFS/ME)

Well, good on them. And I still need to add Linux as a dual-boot, here. >_<
