I like that they call out not saving graphics settings in the cloud. I ran into a couple games where I had to change options any time I switched from my PC to deck.

The most interesting thing is that according to the new flowchart, if a game is not playable on Deck due to poor performance, it is automatically considered not playable on Frame (in standalone mode) for the same reason.

Doesn’t mean the frame is weaker, because the frame has to do more rendering and at higher resolutions.

Just means you won’t be seeing non-VR games playable on Frame which were not on deck.

There are a ton of games playable on deck.

Yes there are a great number, I wasn’t attempting to imply otherwise.

Just making an observation that the chart gives a glimpse into what the actual performance of the Frame will be :)

I didn’t know they also had an Android compatibility layer.

Steam is becoming a collection of emulators.

Arnt compatability layers different then emulation? One interfaces directly with the software thru said compat layer and the other pretends to be the thing it’s meant to run on.

It’s important not to confuse emulator with hardware emulator. (Sadly, this confusion has been common on social media in recent years.)

A system can emulate another system without emulating hardware.

The presentation made it sound like Lepton would only help Android apps be usable on the Frame.

I wish I could sideload an APK to Steam and be able to run the Android app on Bazzite. Like Proton but for Android.

Waydroid

It comes bundled with Bazzite, but it’s not as good as Proton works. Lepton would be a far better solution.
