Counterfeit is just covering one of the many uses of an AGI by those who control them. It still leaves open the other ways they were used against people in the Dune universe, so their absolutism of “no thinking machines, period” is right for what happened to them.
I meant these days, not in the Dune universe. Stuff like people passing AI-generated stuff as human-generated, and businesses replacing workers with AI.
Neural networks have existed for decades, but it’s only in the last few years have companies started replacing people with the technology en masse.
Woah, spoiler alert. Now I know there’s an epic last sentence that I won’t be able to take my mind off of until I finally get to it and it’s definitely nothing like my brain had hyped it up to be.
