My usecase is this: To see what both they, the people in power want us to see, and to see what users say in reaction to it. I see a lot of luigiposting on the comments, a lot of pro-socialism, a lot of pissed off reactions to bad corpodem takes, and I see way, far less pro-Trump or even middling takes on the front page, at least. I’m sure there are still righty/tankie subs, but it ain’t 2024 anymore.

You guys scarecly change your opinions, most of us are leftists, were when we got here and if we werent, we are now, in some shade at least. Reddit goes in flux a lot and seeing how much bluer their community is than 2024 does make me grin a little.

Ehh, I don’t know if we have that big of an effect on Reddit. I’d see more of their older, more traditional users going back to their ubb hobby boards for whatever their main interest is, which are very still out there.

I appreciate lemmy/Piefed being here as an alternative either way.

I always thought every question on a test was a trick question, then questioned myself into believing they weren’t.

I’ve rarely met two autistic people who were entirely similar in their outbursts, if any. I’m rather doubtful your take applies to every person with autism and is more or less I feel, just cruel collective hate speech on your part.

I have not, no Playstation here.

I imagine also things like Helldivers are the future of the totally hypothetical universe we’re theorizing.

40k? Not so much. There’s some mystic Jesus shit going on in 40k.

No more than it is to have a pet cat and give away its 6-8 week old children to strangers by force.

I’m a Food Lion man. The reason being is that aside from the checkout line, I’m rather certain no Food Lion has had its interior updated in 25 years. It’s a normal, bog-standard grocery store, that is so frill-less and basic that the only Shin Ramen is spicy and it isn’t because black and gold are out of stock. It’s all they thought to get.

If this never happened, my day would’ve been 2% better.

Still, though. I frowned for at least two or three minutes.

I also heard “The Forever Winter"** was rather close to the concept thematically.

It’s a 2021 and back swiss-army-knife for gaming, and 6th gen, ps2 and gamecube? We got you, fam. My Deck is the foundation of my gaming. I use it more than my Desktop out of convenience.

Mechanic work is still alright. Yeah, the field is saturated, but the pool is like 80% drunks/unreliable. If you’re even mildly responsible and know your way around wrenches and cutting and hacking on steel, you’ll go far. That said, you don’t have far to go. Everyone old either died or quit and the last one is your boss.

Once you’re in a shop, getting paid, bonding with the crew and settling in, it’s extremely stable. I’m a forklift mechanic at <redacted>, but any experience with any form of truck or carts carries from job to job. The pay is ‘meh’ but it’s enough to live on, buy drugs and a hobby or two. No home or retirement for us, though unless you own a shop.

so… own a shop?

Those types of mechanics know everybody or have a group of clients already,… and they can afford property. Who can afford property? They can, apparently. You could do mobile mechanic work and/or do roadside assistance for insurance companies, but there’s hoops to that too.

There’s tons of work. Sure, the whole world’s gone to shit,… but as a mechanic, that’s good news. You can’t lie to automobiles, they break good economy or bad, and being blunt with rich fucks who think everything is easy to get and cheap is always a treat.
