energy on set is VERY playful. like a real school. jokes, pranks, a lot of fun. Honestly, every single cadet has a funny sense of humor, its like ping pong with the laughs. Kerrice is DEFINITELY the most responsible for making everyone crack up tho

i LOVE sci fi. I think predator badlands that just came out was one of the my favorite movies from the previous year. underrated in my opinion??

i’ve always been a singer and performer as a kid, acting professionally as an adult is just an extension of what i loved doing as a kid. the starfleet academy role came up as an audition with my agent, i sent in a self tape, and a few weeks later i was cast. it was pretty quick. this role and show is my first venture into star trek, i binged a lot of it after getting cast.

i didn’t expect the role to be so challenging tbh, there was no way for me to know until i did it. i quickly learned that filming sci fi take a LOT of energy. long days, long nights. i was surprised by how challenging the prosthetics process is. i researched a lot, jim carrey during the grinch, doug jones, colin farrell in the penguin, ALL of them have been vocal in interviews about how tough the prosthetics process is and i learned first hand

dozens of costume fittings, a few days of prosthetics and makeup tests, eye contact lens fittings, dozens of hours of work with vocal coach to drop my voice, a couple hours of practice with klingon language coach, watched a TON of star trek, particularly any episodes that featured klingons

its just like singing. just stay hydrated, and if you feel resistance take a rest. but if done healthily, i haven’t had any problems at all. its just like singing a long concert

i auditioned in my regular voice, then like 10 days before filming alex asked me to drop it. i definitely watched a ton of worf just to know what people look to, but working with a vocal coach i learned to find my own voice. between voice coach and private sessions with alex kurtz i practiced the voice for DOZENS of hours. i made a video on my instagram @team_karim and my tik tok @team.karim if you wanna hear me doing the voice live

jay-den and I are very similar. i think we both act VERY differently than how we look or are expected to be. i am a soft, gentle man and I believe that translates to Jay-den.

if i was in star trek personally, i would not be in starfleet. i would be an entertainer of some sort, on stage, or maybe in bartender on the ship

LOL. oh but i am just an actor. i think you’d have to talk to someone at Paramount about that. i have dirt on EVERYONE but i’ll never tell

i love the 1st jj abrams movie. like… LOVE.

How did i end up here? on the ‘verse? met u/Admin in real life and they asked me to come and i said hell yes.

tea please! hibiscus non caffeinated with honey and lemon. but my favorite drink is organic coconut water

LOL. my dms are definitely a little crazy right now since the show dropped. not gonna lie

i read A LOT of comments, im chronically online. my mental health right now is GREAT, i’m just happy people are talking tbh lol

they tried to bury it under a fake name, but my agent caught wind and told me immediately. the audition was actually really fun for me i had a good time doing it. once i got cast, i got to screen test with potential actors for darem and they asked my opinion on them. i YELLED george’s name in their ear, his audition was amazing.

sent in my self tape, got a callback maybe 2 weeks later, met with producers, and then a few days later i had an offer. i accepted, and then i was on set within the next 2-3 months.

POWERFUL. everyone always stares at me and i get confused but then i realize its because i look REALLY cool especially in person with all the klingon makeup on lol

ummm all i see is love on my social media accounts, litterally millions of clicks thousands of supporting messages and comments. i dont pay attention to negativity much. ALOT of the negative stuff is homophobic, sexist, racist, bigotry… its hard for me to give any of that kinda stuff any merit
