That’s new to me. Thanks!

I agree. Signal is easier to use and to get people switch to it since the UI/UX are vey similar to other big platforms.

Me neither. In fact, all my friends and almost all people here are only using Messenger and Telegram.

Interesting…

So it’s against federation

Insightful! Thanks. I agree and I’ll give SimpleX a try as others suggested.

Molly has more features and it’s developed by indie devs.

As said in the post, I just want some insights. So any type of comment is okay.

I saw someone says that groups are locally stored only, which is definitely a drawback.

I also prefer Molly as client.

Yes. Jetpack Compose is multiplatform. If you have the source code of an android app, you can port it to your preferred platform, but you have to adjust most of the code depending on the functionality since APIs are platform-specific unless it’s JVM only.

I have getgoogleoff.me email domain 👍🏼

edit: from disroot

I think you still need to register/verify since it will require a valid ID and app IDs (package names).

What I liked the most from it is the inclusion of releases on the migration.

We only have a month for this :)

Be sure to watch the repo to stay updated. Thanks!

Oh. There’s a pre-release alpha 2. But let’s wait for the Beta 2 which is more stable and usable. I’ll be releasing it in both platforms later.

Sorry for the inconvenience. Unfortunately, the two pre-release have been deleted accidentally.

I’ll skip those now and proceed woth Version Alpha 3.

Haven’t used WebDAV services. I’ll focus on local import/export for now since it’s on early development stage. I’ll be listing features suggested though for tracking.

Well not everyone remembers everything, even the most important things. Just like me, who always forgot where I put my smartphone after a couple of seconds, or even my partner’s birthday. I’m the worst at remembering.

Import and Export features are already planned. You would choose your preferred backup/export directory because I know that android data directory cannot be accessed by many especially on newer android versions.

Thanks.

Yes, it’s planned.

It’s not implemented yet.

I haven’t explicitly removed some unused permissions.

No. it doesn’t have an integration feature but you could provide a preffered cummunication method but it limited for now.

About the tiner, I think it’s not feasible. I don’t know.

Well, I think it’s on the description.

It’s FOSS, offline, no account required, and others in the future. I honestly don’t know much about Monica since I don’t use it. I don’t use web services that has a free and offline alternatives.

It’s on early development so there’s not really a huge difference.

I will post an updates throughout the development.

iOS app is feasible but I’ve never really developed an iOS app. This could be the start I think.
