1 can be solved by not having DRM that prevents you making backups. So the obvious one is GOG.

Yeah, unless your goal is to immediately be a homeless illegal immigrant. Good luck with that.

Pretty sure the cost of physically moving is the easy part too. You need to be allowed to work at your destination if you have any chance at surviving for long.

A single month rent is enough money to get to almost any country on the planet. But good luck actually moving to a lot of them with that.

Probably only a few years away from being able to claim refugee status in Canada or Mexico though.

What restrictions do we consider reasonable if its justified by saving lives? Most would say 1984 to save some lives isn’t a desirable option.

At the same time, millions dead just to save wearing a face mask in public seems unreasonable.

So where is the reasonable line? I remember being told I was reckless for going for a swim. At no point was I within even 20m of anyone else except when cars drove past me as I cycled to/from the beach.

Some acted as if leaving your home for any reason was endangering others, others acted like the slightest inconvenience was an unacceptable infringement of their rights.

Even softwood seems so expensive. Plywood is probably the extent of my budget for a lot of things. Not sure how well it lasts outside or how treatable it is though so just haven’t really made much.

ICE would pay tax on fuel based on mileage, as well as the vehicle tax which is a set rate per year based on the vehicle regardless of how much you use it.

EVs only pay the vehicle tax and then nothing based on usage.

I’ll try that one the next time I am asked about accessibility features.

Sure, I am just at work and unable to watch a video. Others are physically unable to. Data usage may also be an issue for some. A suggestion to add a writeup is constructive criticism.

If its public domain couldn’t anyone else with a copy make it freely available

I don’t want to watch a YouTube video. Feel like videos at least should have a summary writeup.

Feels clickbaity too.

Really feel like its time we shifted currencies up a bit tbh.

So UK currently is £50 (almost non existent) £20 £10 and £5 notes, £2 £1 50p 20p 10p 5p 2p 1p coins.

Drop the 1/2p coins and £5/10 note, add a £5/10 coin and actually print the £50 notes in meaningful quantities, probably add a £100 note too.

It wouldn’t be tied to a transaction though would it? Just enough to suggest you may have made a transaction of some kind at that location.

Still, seems like just holding the money may not be enough. Try to swap it. £500 you took out 6 months ago all got spent in the same place, that is probably still your money. If it was £80 of yours, £140 of Johns, £200 of Freds and £80 of Beths, now its far harder to know. Plus its mixed in with so many other transactions as well.

More people swapping notes would also further reduce the value of that kind of surveillance.

I generally prefer fermented fruits and honey. Although I suppose rhubarb is a vegetable, and one of the things I grow with hand tools.

I have been home brewing for a few years and looked it up out of curiosity. Fucking hell the taxes and regulations are oppressive if I wanted to try selling anything. Then there is distilling that I would probably not even be given permission to do and the vast majority of the cost of your end product is gone to alcohol tax and VAT.

Also all the ingredients I use? Illegal if I wanted to sell any product made with foraged berries. So I couldn’t even sell jam.

I was thinking more of a side business than full time. Possibly a semi retirement option if I pay off the mortgage in several decades.

If you can do it faster you still make ten hours, but if it’s slower you still only make 10 hours.

So cut as many corners as you can probably get away with. What a great incentive…

I only did 1 of those and managed to get a house by my late 20s a few years ago.

Greentexts are a lot cheaper though. Kinda like self medicating with alcohol.

Glad I didn’t go to uni. Wish I did an apprenticeship sooner.

I prefer dry stacked bricks, a bit less hot to accidentally touch the edge.

IIRC some days don’t have a school shooting. Not sure about weeks or months though.

I would like a bit of colour. But fuck wallpaper. Most of our carpets are blue, not in the bathroom or kitchen though. Could do with getting some rugs but nice ones are hardly cheap.

As a younger millennial I can’t afford to take you up on that bet.

Yeah not a fan of wallpaper either. Removed like 3 layers of the stuff when we got our house. Awful.

Depressingly this is probably a way to ensure better treatment than any care home would give you. Have known someone do some cruising in retirement, but the ship was wind powered and made of wood.

As you wouldn’t want equipment damaged you could have a training/certification scheme. Realistically a deposit too.

Just don’t buy more than you can reasonably eat and it really isn’t going to matter

Ours turn off around midnight. That probably helps a fair bit. Changing brightness does seem like an interesting idea though, probably better to have them dim before all turning off. At least my street is pitch black but I think main roads remain turned on. Live in urban sprawl between 2 cities so even with our street off there is still loads of light pollution.

Used, most parts still attached

At least Mr Beast is giving decent payouts… Meanwhile UK has stuff like get married to a stranger and pressured into having sex or just outright raped. There is no payout, all you seem to get is the wedding, a week holiday and a few weeks in an apartment block.

I would be fine with oat flour. They could place a small dehuller there next to the heap of oats. As farm equipment goes that would be almost free.

I would gladly turn up and by grains from a big heap if it was a reliable and reasonably affordable option. I would even bring my own sacks. My bike should be able to store around 70L of grain, more if I get a trailer. Which if this became a reliable option I would possibly consider doing.

Very brief look suggests £200/ton or 20p/kg for oats as what a farmer gets paid. I would happily pay double that to have a pile I can bag up myself.

Farming union owns and rents out the equipment? Already got the union, make it more useful. Might make smaller farms more practical too.

Air fryers are smaller and portable though. I don’t have the space for 3 ovens. I do have the space for a small oven and air fryer with 2 compartments.

Rarely need all of them, but more than 1 or having a small one is frequently beneficial

Would it be safe in a VM, or are there ways they can break out too

Mine doesn’t list required productivity hours, just hours I need to sit here

So how was anyone struggling financially back then?

Its also discrimination against those who can read all 3 languages but have poor eyesight so they can only actually read the larger text English.
