Depends on the time of the year. For my vacation in July, I went to two museums I’ve been wanting to visit for ages and went to the waterpark I haven’t been at in over 10 years, but I also had days where I didn’t leave my home.

I think that the group of feelings we refer to as love can manifest in a variety of ways. Personally, I’ve had two long term relationships that were built on different kinds of love.
One was stable and secure, built on mutual trust and respect. We had fabulous communication, healthy conflict resolution, and a shared commitment to one another. There were also challenges that were bearable only because of that solid foundation.
On the other hand, I’ve experienced the passionate kind of love that gets glamorized in music and stories, or at least some degree of it. This is that falling feeling, passion, sexuality, and excitement. But that relationship was also somewhat unstable, so it was unfortunately an unsustainable feeling.
Both times, when the realization hit me that I had “fallen in love” (or developed a strong attachment, really) to this person, I was so overwhelmed and cried.
I don’t think one is necessarily preferable to the other. An intellectual connection, sexual chemistry, and shared goals are all more important to me than butterflies in my stomach.

So you can download the game, zip the game data folder, copy it elsewhere, unzip it and play it there. So, yeah, you can absolutely do that in Steam, which is why I never get the “oh, but GoG has DRM free games” appeal.

Despite what you just said, not letting the kid express themselves and have a safe space to do it is literally child abuse.
Having to pitch the option and make a safe space for a child to express themselves as gay or fem or masc or whatever gender is literally the job of the parent. If you take that away and force the child to hide themselves from you, you’re stunting them.
Most children, as long as you allow them the space, generally have a pretty good idea of what they are and want. Also keep in mind, a lot of sexuality and gender and expression is not permanent and they can change at any time. Especially puberty blockers, those are LITERALLY designed to be non-destructive since the wrong puberty can be destructive and all blockers do is temporarily pause that. As soon as you take the kid off blockers, they’ll go through puberty like normal. It happens literally all the time and it’s fine. Puberty blockers were designed for precocious puberty -meaning a kid starts getting puberty WAYYY earlier than they should, making their life difficult for a number of social, medical, other reasons.
The more you push on kids to not express themselves or be “different”, the less they’re likely to feel safe to do so and find themselves and basically end up a self hating, closeted asshole. Let people explore and experiment safely. As a parent, it’s literally your job to provide a safe, healthy environment for your child to grow and learn about themselves and the world. Shutting down exploration of self always causes often irreparable psychological and physical damage…And that extends to whether they like boys, girls, a mix, nobody, something in-between, or even if they change their minds over and over - or, in the case of gender, how they see themselves and how they want to express that, that’s okay!
Unlike you, we aren’t saying to make the decision about who they are for the kid, but to allow them space and safety to explore it on their own, without shame or prejudice, in a way that isn’t going to hurt them, to the best of our abilities.
Because of far right politics and far right disinformation everywhere, though, that freedom to seek peace, self acceptance, and true happiness in life is hampered and confused and, sadly, emotionally charged. So, even as parents, we must do the best we can to provide for our children in the best ways we can, and not oppress them unless it’s dangerous for them.

Pretty much this. I couldn’t commit to self-study enough to make any meaningful progress even though I tried really hard. I’m sure other people can just pick up a book and some audio tapes and do well on their own. I ended up doing lessons in iTalki because I need the guidance and live feedback. It’s been great so far although I’ve only been at it for a few weeks. Looking forward to see where I am in a year.

Scoff all you want, but she wrote almost all of her songs. Which probably IS unusual these times, and I was surprised too when I looked it up. But she’s actually still working, training to dance, singing, writing lyrics and music, touring, traveling, entertaining.
Maybe not strictly unintentional, but I used to love watching Poppy’s YouTube channel. Her videos, especially the older ones, have pleasant ambient music and overdubbed vocals that definitely tickle the brain. The light satire is fun too, and some of the videos start to lean into the world of fashion. Her newer stuff is darker and heavier, less ASMR-like but still interesting.
I think that the group of feelings we refer to as love can manifest in a variety of ways. Personally, I’ve had two long term relationships that were built on different kinds of love.
One was stable and secure, built on mutual trust and respect. We had fabulous communication, healthy conflict resolution, and a shared commitment to one another. There were also challenges that were bearable only because of that solid foundation.
On the other hand, I’ve experienced the passionate kind of love that gets glamorized in music and stories, or at least some degree of it. This is that falling feeling, passion, sexuality, and excitement. But that relationship was also somewhat unstable, so it was unfortunately an unsustainable feeling.
Both times, when the realization hit me that I had “fallen in love” (or developed a strong attachment, really) to this person, I was so overwhelmed and cried.

Nope. PCs haven’t had physical games for well over a decade. Even “physical” games like Battlefield 1 just had a code in them, and that was 2016, a decade ago now. Discs were going away for PC games by the early 10s. I’ve been surprised that consoles held out for as long as they did, considering the always online stuff, the updates, seasonal DLC, DRM, etc. I miss when games were feature complete, like Pokemon Emerald or the early Sonic franchise.

I find this hard to believe as well. There is very little information given and it seems more likely they accidentally shopped at two different targets. Not sure if this counts, but as a software engineer, pretty much all major software you use is hacks on top of hacks on top of something someone built as a ‘temporary’ solution or as a proof-of-concept that’s still in use years later. It’s amazing that anything works properly at all. Stable software is basically just software with 10+ years of bug fixes layered on top of it.
Part of the reason that Windows backwards compatibility is so good (plenty of Windows 95/98 apps still work fine on Windows 11!) is because Windows automatically applies compatibility fixes, including simulating bugs that were in older versions of Windows, because old apps could be relying on those bugs.
My wife gets very frustrated when she encounters bugs, whereas I’m usually like “well, it’s not nearly as bad as it could be” lol

Installers are just fancy zipped folder. And AFAIK, all games that are DRM free on GoG are also DRM free on Steam. So you can download the game, zip the game data folder, copy it elsewhere, unzip it and play it there. I’ve done that with several games, in fact when I was trying to convince some friends to buy a game I did that so we could play it in lan with a single copy so they would try it and buy it so we could play it online later.
So, yeah, you can absolutely do that in Steam, which is why I never get the “oh, but GoG has DRM free games” appeal.
