One of the RISC-V SoCs we have been most looking forward to this year is the SpacemiT K3 that features the X100 RISC-V cores that are RVA23 compliant and among the first readily available RVA23 RISC-V platform for running on the likes of Ubuntu 26.04 LTS. I think that just leaves VRR for complete HDMI 2.1, although it will likely be a while before this all trickles down to mainline kernels. Presumably Freesync over HDMI will work too for even earlier support.
I know it doesn’t look great in comparison to the proprietary but I do love seeing Nouveau continue to progress regardless and being positive about the progress
Germany’s Sovereign Tech Agency (Sovereign Tech Fund) has provided critical financial resources to open-source software projects and maintainers the past several years. This has proven to be an incredible effort and today they announced their newest initiative as the Sovereign Tech Standards.
