Israel hits Lebanon with massive wave of airstrikes amid ceasefire uncertainty

Israeli military announces ‘largest coordinated strike’ against Hezbollah since war began, carrying out a wave of airstrikes without warning on Beirut and across the country on more than 100 targets.

The attack came less than 12 hours after the Iran ceasefire announcement.

Iran and Pakistan said a ceasefire would include Lebanon, contrary to Israeli claims, but the US has yet to comment.

Up until the wave of airstrikes by Israel across Lebanon, Hezbollah had not announced any attacks against Israel – a first since the war between it and Israel began on 2 March.

The almost five weeks of war in Lebanon has brought the country to its breaking point, with more than 1.1 million people forcibly displaced… More than 1,530 people had been killed and 4,812 wounded by Israeli airstrikes, Lebanon’s ministry of health said on Tuesday.

I don’t think there’s any uncertainty about this non-ceasefire

Neither do I, and if it weren’t for the community rules, I might have dropped it off the title altogether. You’d think they’d just lost track of the time the way this is phrased, but it at least mentions the “massive wave of attacks against Lebanon”. The other articles right now use even milder terms like “sporadic attacks in the gulf” or “Israel says it will continue operations”.

Polymarket bets in shambles.

I just pray Iran will eventually flatten jizzrael.

Don’t forget:

The batshit crazy evangelicals not only need war in the middle east to bring about Armageddon, they need Israel to be a Jewish ethnostate that gets wiped off the map by all of its neighbors unifying against them.

Their alliance with Israel was always temporary, and one day they’re just going to leave them out to dry, because they think immediately after Israel gets wiped out, they get raptured.

I think if Vance does use the 25th in January, that’s when they’ll do the rug pull on Bibi. Especially since midterms are set to flush most of the Dems who support Israel. If republicans turn their back in lockstep in January as the new session starts…

Then we could actually see the day the US gives zero aid or support to Israel.

Dont get my hopes up

“Further action against Hezbollah” they really mean “making lots of civilians homless while taking more of Lebanon’s land”.

Tbh, they may hit some Hezbollah guy(s) while bombing the civilian homes. You never know.

Warplanes levelled several buildings in the centre of Beirut, filling the skies with smoke in what Israel’s defence minister said was “a surprise strike” on the pro-Iranian group Hezbollah.

How is bombing the middle of a city filled with civilians a strike on Hezbollah? Israel only knows how to be terrorists, this is the same playbook as Palestine. Kill mountains of civilians in civilian areas, then make a vague claim of insurgent activity in the area.

That’s their playbook those psycopathic fascist genociders. And Iran and it’s allies are the only ones fighting them. I hope it rains missiles on them for days and days until their stolen land is decimated and erased.

I think part of the strategy is to generate future terrorists. It’s much easier to be a victim when you are a victim. And by “you” I mean regular citizens, not the ones bombing others. They’ll never get what they deserve.

If you look at social media, the bots are already out defending it. Those civilian apartments were hiding Hezbollah, just like the Gaza hospitals were hiding Hamas.

Israel has a right to exist, but apparently Lebanon does not.

“Striking Hezbollah” is the new “Hamas tunnels” and just like for the last one the Press in many places (most notably the UK and US) is purposefully using that messaging.

This is why in this article in The Guardian (which has a long track record of Consent Manufacturing and cheerleading for Israel) the subtitle they use is:

‘Largest coordinated strike’ against Hezbollah since war began prompts warnings Iran could pull out of ceasefire

rather than

Claimed by Israel ‘Largest coordinated strike against Hezbollah since war began’ prompts warnings Iran could pull out of ceasefire

Israel wants war and will continue to drag the US back into war until the US properly punishes Israel. The tail is wagging the dog and it needs to stop.

You make it sound like one of those ‘50s “what she needs is a good spanking!” shrew-taming movies

The US has a full hand of leverage options against Israel which Trump can unilaterally use. Very minimum is simply stop sending them more interceptors. But I think kidnapping Netanyahu and sending him to the ICC would be appropriate.

All fanciful wish casting of course.

another israeli ‘ceasefire’

Sure doesn’t sound like a ceasefire. Maybe I don’t understand the term.

Vance said it was a ‘misunderstanding’ so I guess we don’t understand it at all

“Whoopsidoodles, I bombed a bunch more stuff after I got you to agree to a ceasefire.” ,Vance. Always look more keenly to what someone does, moreso than what they say.

Israel won’t let this war end. They need the chaos so they can keep their war of aggression to steal more land.

Lebanon really needs some fucking air defense systems. This is absolutely ridiculous.

Isn’t it obvious Israel is doing everything they can to break the ceasefire? it’s the exact same Nazi bullshit they have always done

they want the war to continue. the whole iran war is a great distraction for another ethnic cleansing and landgrab.

they are aware their time is over. it is unlikely any AIPAC’S cunt will win again. Israel is close to lose all international support. this is their swan song.

I just hope they don’t get to replicate Sabra and Shatilla
