Back in the day shows did the math to produce 22 episodes a year, every year, for decades at a time.
Unless the editors and visual effects artists are also the writers and camera operators, you can get to work on the next season before the previous season is on screens.
I think the truth is that season renewals are reactionary and the producers/studio want to analyse the ratings and reviews before picking up the pen again. It shows they don’t have faith in the story and that the show is a product to maximize profits rather than a piece of art.
This season had a steep drop in the ratings. Someone should tell the showrunner to “do the math.”
S2 wasn’t that great wouldn’t be surprised if it lost them viewers
The solution is to drop the streaming service until they bring back the show. They do the longer gap knowing most people won’t.
You didn’t need math to know the cow’s gone dry.
