My mother stumbled upon season one and absolutely loves it. Easily one of her favorite series’ ever.
Had no clue there was an anime or manga, that it originated in Japan, that it was a reboot of an existing canon, or anything. She’s pretty averse to the whole idea of anime, and when I told her there was an anime and she started it, she predictably really didn’t like it. But she loves the live-action show.
Same for my dad. I find it hilarious that he loves this show so much, it’s completely out of character for him.
I bet he loves popeye.
I really don’t understand the stylistic choice to make every shot a close up. For such an expensive show that is supposed to have a vast and diverse world, the shots make the sets look so small and claustrophobic.
Highlighting character design? Saving money on cgi shots?
They love the cast and want to show everyone how beautiful they are
