Looks interesting, but I am cautious of uploading any photos to a cloud platform.

I do wish Immich would add some social features

No.

Sharing a library would be nice, like in Google Photos. Is that a thing with Immich? Anybody know?

Yes. You can either have two people use the same account, or do partner sharing.

Aw man, sweet!! Thanks for the info! I need to get going with setting that up. One day…

You add it to an album then add other users to the album.

Mm, nah, that’s not really what I mean. That would be too much work.

You can even share public links (with password protection and expiration date if you need it), and if you’re running immich public proxy, you can do so without even exposing your immich instance to the entire internet.

What I’m looking for already exists without doing all that work, just like on Google Photos. Someone already gave me the correct tip. 😚

There’s MyAlbum, I’ve started playing with that a little.

I can appreciate the desire for such things but there’s a lot to be said about keeping the pressures as they are.

Websites should follow old unix philosophy, frankly. Interoperate with eachother to some extent but each should focus on their core purpose. The business goon ideal of the everything site is terrible for everyone.

Comments from other communities

Guess what I don’t want: another place to put shit. Particularly an underpopulated one. No thanks; I’m good.

Especially if it’s an accident.

Did they also accidentally use it to rate women by sexual appeal without their consent?
