The knowledge is not in danger, in fact, it has never been safer. The AI models have read every manual that no human reads. They will recite, flawlessly and forever, exactly how all machines work. If this were only about competence, it would be the most secure moment in the history of computing.
Negative. The knowledge absolutely can come out garbled because it’s not reciting verbatim what was put in. Instead it can and sometimes will recite a garbled version that people who don’t have the knowledge to push back against it will not know is wrong.
And additionally every single tradesman in the world will tell you there are operational procedures they do that aren’t written down anywhere. I’ve seen it in literally every trade I have worked.
