ThePowerOfGeekBut no mention in that article about the various instances ( here, here, here, here, etc ) of companies quietly having to hire back staff they’ve laid off because AI (or the people that were left at the companies who are using AI + AI consultants) is often doing such a bad job at replacing them.
Although this quote from this post’s article is telling:

I already got cut. Lost my 10-year IT job to AI last year. Now I’m working in a factory, packaging waffles 8 hr/day. The irony of me doing drudgery that could be fairly easily done by a machine, while a machine is doing something that requires agency, decisions and creativity, is not lost on me.
I want to get off mr. Bones Wild Ride. Forever.
If it makes you feel better that AI is almost certainly doing a horrible job that will burden your former employer with unfixable tech debt in just a few years.

Not in a “Darwinian moment”, like the CEO says. Then healthy social structures can be decisive.
Using his logic, workers would be wise to curtail all their spending because they wont have jobs. Stop buying houses, cars, clothing, going out for food or entertainment and anything else discretionary. There will be no people to buy your stuff because theyre broke. This dystopia the tech bros ate pushing is disgraceful.
If his company doesn’t help the average person, fuck his company. Tear it down. It’s pointless.
