One commit in the past two years? What does this even do? (Pretend I don’t know any buzzwords)

So, fake ID as a service?

Identification needs a trusted third party verification to be valid. If you take all authority out of the equation (most commonly governments and banks), this is no more than a piece of paper with no verifiable information.

The print-your-own form lists “EPO” as issuer. I guess that’s the European Patents Office? That’s… a choice, and I don’t know that they issue identity papers, except for concepts and inventions. Either way you can just fill in your own. In fact, you can probably put “Santa Claus” in every form field and push print.

I’m for the idea in principle, but without some validation entity it’s just a novelty site with a straight face.

Looks like a simple self-declaration. I choose a Nickname here on Lemmy?

In the current political context, “decentralized identity framework” implies/suggests something else IMO.

Being able to issue multiple IDs or change IDs is an interesting concept, but makes me immediately concerned about misuse.

What are you trying to identify with these IDs?

Seems like it’s a simple persona declaration. Can’t do much with it alone in terms of trustworthiness or individual traceability or verifiability.
