Classical music is a specific genre. There’s music that’s halfway written that’s still classical. Classic is an honorific.

I hate my band is a hit at The Real McKenzies gigs.

Ronnie Van Zant wrote a song “That Smell” about Gary Rossington.

Rossington survived the plane crash, and continued to play with the surviving members of the band until his death a few years ago. So he played that song for decades.
