There is a mental disconnect

The man with the confederate flag should have been hanged for a traitor less than a week after Biden was inaugurated along with everyone else that entered the capitol building that day. This country has been failing to punish its traitors since the civil war.

Now that I think about it, the Confederacy managed to make being a traitor to the United States unbased. That’s certainly an accomplishment.

FYI, in case anyone hasn’t been keeping up with recent news, this scheme was too much even for the Republicans and Congress finally pushed back on it. Trump’s lawyers said they’re giving up on the idea, but we’ll have to see whether that ends up being true or another con.
