Janeway would make terrorists part of her uniformed crew then thoroughly violate the prime directive in full “fuck it” mode to change what she didn’t like about the outcomes.

Both the regular prime directive and the temporal one, just to be thorough.

I mean, they said Kirk was the worst offender, but was he? Quality vs quantity and such.

She literally did, in fact.

DS9 has the whole range of politics. Odo the Fascist. Kira the Terrorist. Quark the capitalist. Rom the proletariat. Garak the gay spy. Bashir the other gay spy. The whole range.

Rom the proletariat has some of the best lines in all of Trek 😎

ROM: There’s only one thing I have to say to you. Workers of the world, unite. You have nothing to lose but your chains.

it always felt very on-the-nose to me. lol

And Sisko the man who poisons whole planets

‘Terrorist’ is a label of perspective, historically.

and siskos unilaterally decides marques as terrorists when its convenient politically but almost rarely condemns cardassians for doing the same thing and doesnt raise a stink about Klingons giving cloaking tech to marquee to commit the same acts. and later commits terrorist attack(with garak bombing a senator) to drag romulans into the war

i bet that the albino was the last member of the epstein class, so he probably deserved it. lol

and the circle was clearly a compatible leftist group being manipulated by the space facists – as compatible leftists always are by fascists – so they deserved it too. lmao.

Janeway: “Allow? It’s a requirement.”

It’s always the winning side that gets to be the “innocent victim of terrorists.”

Considering everything going on rn, really feel like a spin-off with the Maquis would actually take off more than any of the recent shows have. Maybe that’s just the anarchist in me talking.

You want a show about colonizers who rebel after being ordered to cede the land they’re illegally occupying back to its original owners?

that’s such a gross mischaracterization of maquis problem you could be us republican spin doctor.

No, was going more for a story about how star fleet wouldn’t do what’s right due to something like prime directive but others break ranks to take on the real villain. The story should highlight that not all laws are just and that the enforcers are just as corrupt as those making the bad rules.
