This intriguing Earthbound interview between producer Shigesato Itoi and fellow writer Hajime Kimura originally appeared in the 9/94 edition of Family Computer Magazine. As one might expect from a conversation between two writers, the tone is philosophical and big-picture, with Itoi offering many insights into Earthbound’s influences and conception.

There’s a YouTube channel named Tyrannicon; well known for Soulsborne Boss Cheese guides by “The Guru”. Less known is his Patreon with literally 1000’s of videos of games - in particular retro games. He is in the process of completing ‘Earthbound’. It’s such a weird game! But lovable and has heaps of heart. The soundtrack is amazing and plays a bit like a Proto Pokémon game (Gameboy versions).
