Microsoft, you don’t have to keep selling Linux to me, you’ve already convinced me

I literally still have the OG “Photo Viewer” from XP since they changed it years ago and got rid of the slideshow feature. Crazy thing is, the old program supports pretty much anything. The current one supplied by Windows doesn’t even animate animated .gifs.

Windows 11 continuing to be the best possible advertisement for Linux

Small correction: It’s not a separate app installation, it’s a second icon for OneDrive or something that opens OneDrive (the actual app) directly in photo mode.

Get 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC.

Honestly I think that’s what I’ll do eventually

I highly recommend it, a fresh install reminds me of a fresh XP/7 install, like a blank slate.

I also highly recommend installing StartAllBack, too. Its like $5 with and has a really long trial. I got my UI to be nice and more functional all while still retaining the W11 Mica look and feel.

Will it do webp and HEIC? No? Fuck off

Can’t even uninstall it, you click uninstall and it just opens appwiz.cpl but it’s not in the list

In my old PC I had a Windows M.2 drive that I booted to years ago to run games when Proton hadn’t taken off big yet.

I’m scared to even install it in my new PC these days. I still want the files but, shit. Wondering if it’s worth it lol.

I guess I’ll mount it read-only under Linux and grab what I need, then wipe that mf.

I have to keep Windows installed for modding my games (Fallout, Elder Scrolls, Kingdom Hearts, etc.) and I just got Tiny11, then use ChrisTitusTools to tweak it to be at least somewhat more respectful towards me.

If modding isn’t something you plan on doing, NUKE THAT POS! :-P

NUKE THAT POS! :-P

🫡 Aye! I only paid like $10–20 for the Windows 10 license key anyway, which was then turned into Windows 11 on software upgrade. No big loss! 😁

Paid-for malware install malware

In other breaking news, air is breathable. (usually)

You can’t really call yourself part of a master race of PC gamers if you don’t at least try Linux.

I love Linux, that being said there’s always some specific crazy hitch for why I can’t DD it. That and it gets old copy and pasting terminal commands to make things work that should just kinda work.

If people just used Linux, that issue would disappear.

Its almost like people make software and hardware work more for the OS that has 80% of the consumer market or more.

Can’t get better support unless people use it.

How about they let me copy things from photo viewer

Yesterday I started up onedrive on my laptop after not using said service in like a month, was bombarded with atleast there annoying notifications about how I can now use words to search for a photo. Might be related to this?

OneDriveOS continues to pamper itw users, how nice.
