It’s a simple game that runs well at launch and doesn’t have scummy micro transactions or live service. It might just be my opinion, but while the game is enjoyable, there’s nothing special about the story itself to justify making it into a series. I mean they can if they want to, but it’s more the technical formula that works and they need to repeat, rather than the story concept itself.
So a fourth Mega Man timeline then?
The combat in this game is gnarly fun. If they do make another game or two, I hope they add even more puzzle stuff to the combat. It’s hard to explain, but they really managed to take super small encounters (like you vs 1 or maybe 2 enemies in a small room) and make them as stressful to deal with as the characters you’re playing as probably feels. It also gives more challenge to basic gun play than your speed and precision. You need to have patience, have good movement, and watch basically two different games at once (the shooter and the puzzle).
No shit it had an open ending, I’d be surprised if it didn’t develop into a series
