Cosi

I started watching/listening to The Movie Show episodes while working (fuck your awful minute-or-more long ad breaks SBS) and there was a glowing review for Cosi. I haven’t seen it since release and my partner hasn’t seen it so I put it on last night for something a bit light-hearted. It’s great, a bit dated, not something you could say is ‘timeless’ but still a fun watch.

One thing to note is when you see the beach scenes where the young couple live you’ll notice how much Sydney has changed in the past 30 years.

Cosi is a 1996 Australian comedy drama film directed by Mark Joffe. Louis Nowra wrote both the screenplay and the 1992 play on which it was based. The story is loosely based on Nowra’s own experience at producing Trial by Jury at Plenty Mental Hospital in suburban Melbourne in 1971.
