This is sad.
I know. Surely there is a way to monetize these to the delight of investors. Otherwise it’s just pathetic.
No its just the beginning. Engineered day by day. Imagine if an algorithm controlled everything-Tech CEO dreams
I simultaneously think it’s fucked, and I can immediately think of people in my life where this’d be harm reduction.
Not quite the same thing, but it is really fun putting together a fresh build on pcpartpicker whenever a new hardware generation comes out just to think about.
Probably a big unexplored space for videogames with this type of concept
Ok, this is one of the many signs that civilization needs to just, STOP, and re-evaluate everything.
Stopping for even 1 sec would cost the shareholders a lot. Why does nobody care about the shareholders…
Ok but isnt the fun part of ordering something the moment it arrives?
Consumerism and materialism really do hold a grasp on the mind for many. Can recount several people I know personally who make really dang good money, far better than I, but spend it all on so much unnecessary bullcrap that they wind up struggling financially.
Wait til these sites are filled with real ads and/or expect you to pay real money in order to sign up and use them.
South Korea is almost laughably dystopic. The all-consuming obsession with pop artists and world renowned vanity and love for plastic surgery weren’t enough? Whatever Koreans over there were before the Burgers fucked them up mentally with their antihuman ideology/attitudes is dead, now there’s only dysfunction, superficiality and hedonistic nihilism. 😭
So can you pay for a site or app that is designed to not spend your money?
Bear with me, what if my real dopamine kick is not paying for a pay site that is about not paying for things. Which would inevitably give rise to the site that gets you to pay for the site that you don’t want to pay for that allows you to spend money without spending it.
It is a game of capitalist and mouse.

This is really sad, but one has to wonder if it’s actually prevalent enough to warrant news or the typical “everyone panic the youth are doing blank” when someone just said something on the internet once.
That’s kind of neat actually, but nothing that didn’t already exist on AOL in the 90s
We’re kind of doing it right now actually! How about that weather today huh?
Not too bad. What really gets to me is the humidity.
Ugh, tell me about it. My work is so humid that I wouldn’t be surprised about clouds forming indoors.
One person made an app for their weird thing. Sound the alarm bells, the younger generation is doomed
Time is a circle
That is why clocks are round!
Ooh “doing blank” is the perfect slang term for this activity.
“I just spent my whole paycheck on rent and electricity. Next one is car note and groceries. Imma hit some blank for a while so I can get to sleep.”
Why do you think a popular genre of games these days are life Sim stuff that gets weirdly mundane.
People want to be able to build computers or drive a truck or a train or clean a pool but dont want to not be paid a livable wage to do so. So nw we all make believe.
Just can’t seem to get the real world in line so now its just all pretend. Thats the part that sucks.
Real work in real life for shit wages? 🖐️🙂↔️
Fake work in a video game for thousands of dollars a month fron Patreon and Twitch donators? ☝️🙂↕️

Oh shit, the wedges you make get stacked realistically
Combine this with one of those cosy spaces apps, so like all the garbage you buy needs to be managed or your cosy space devolves into a hoarder house or something. That would be a neat game.
Reminds me of this meme app
i tried to use instagram a couple of times, and it felt exactly like that every time
People are saying it’s bleak but at least people aren’t buying random crap they don’t need
Yeah, that is a bit of a silver lining to this cloud.
It’s bleak to me because when denied the artificial highs of buying crap, they just switched to fake ones to get the fix. Instead of them doing something else that might make them happy in a more real healthy way.
Like breaking an addiction of a real thing, just to replace it with an artificial one.
Side note: you can acquire as much shop-amine and buy as much random crap as you want if you buy everything used!
Where’s the humor? This is bleak as fuck.
That’s not suspicious at all. Am I missing something?
Wouldn’t a better idea be to write an extension that just pretends a bogus card number was accepted for multiple sites?
Humanity is really going for that Darwin award.
And taking the planet with it
I think humanity has been here a couple of times and been whiped out.
The Hindu says we are on our 7th iteration, the Greek says we are on our 5th, Aztec says 5th, and Christianity says 2 (Noah saving animals).
Earth will be fine. :) It can heal from our damage but will take time. The again, time doesn’t matter. If next generation is in 10000 years from now, they will start their count from their birth, like we did.
